Trams are an iconic part of South Africa's history. In 1889 the first tram lines were laid with double-decker trams being introduced later. The trams may be gone, but the modernized Tramshed Mall is a nostalgic reminder of how far South Africa has come.

Description

A historic, part of Pretoria restored, modernized and transformed into a whimsical mall. The Tramshed is a vintage tram depot that has been converted to accommodate a number of stores that cater for every taste while providing a nostalgic atmosphere for those who are fascinated by South Africa's captivating past.

Historic buildings just fascinate me. The Tram Shed. Imagining old Pretoria buzzing with Trams glyding side by side with vehicles on the street. I was hoping to see an old Tram though... ... Has ample covered parking paid but affordable which is what I primarily come here for. They have a virgin active which is very popular, different types of stores, a bakery or 2, a curtain shop, pick n pay for groceries, Nando's, and banks and ATMs. Also medical and dental practices. Basic stuff. It's neither here nor there. Placed in the CBD.
I was pleasantly surprised going inside and finding this vintage feeling, safe and pleasant shopping experience in the middle of Pretoria. The centrum staff can be a little more helpful and friendly but all in all not at all what I expected to find walking in Pretoria central.
I only used the parking, I was going to the containers to do my nails. Safe parking in town, it’s just a bit of a hassle to walk out/ back in once you’re ready to leave. Mara ke taba tsa tropo tseo, your car will be safe that’s the only thing that matters, oh and you can swipe / tap your phone and don’t need to carry cash for parking
Don't expect too much it's a small mall. There is a Nandos, A Pick and Pay... Pick & Pay Liquor, an FNB, Cake Shops, Phone repairs etc and if you are a foreigner with expired or no documents stay away you might run into the police looking for money like I did today lol my documents where in order but they still wanted cool drink
Only problem when security allows their family members for that pass through to Pretorius Street but us they look on face and say it's not allowed we carrying heavy items have to go back. That's lack of humanity
Very clean always and parking is affordable, I parked there almost the whole day for R30.00
I actually liked that mall it was good, clean, and good variety will go there again
Very clean place. There's not much drama happening. You do your things in peace. But always be vigilant because it's not your private space I still love it.
Great place to do shopping as there are no long ques and the place is clean
