House is beautifully decorated and the pictures look amazing. Was looking forward to an amazing getaway, but was sadly disappointed. Upon arrival we found out that there was no water and there had not been water for 4 or 5 days prior according to a neighbour in the area. However this was not communicated until we were due to arrive. There was a Jojo tank but this had to be used so sparingly to last us the duration of the stay. Reading other reviews, I now noticed that the water issue seems to be ongoing and guests should be notified of this prior. We were kindly offered another free night to compensate, but with the water dwindling, this was not even an option for any of our party. Three of the rooms do not have doors. So there was no privacy at all!!! If guests needed the shared bathroom, they were able to see right onto the bed in the room. Our linen 'appeared' clean. It was only when we turned it over that we saw the mud blob on it. Needless to say.... we could not sleep on/in it knowing that it had clearly not been in water or soap in quite some time. The adjacent room has very noisy wooden floorboards so at least you will know when someone is coming into your room and you can make the necessary adjustments, should you need to. The basement room needs serious airing. It is musty, the bathroom was not clean and no one wanted to stay in that room. Can't blame them. I didn't want to either. Since loadshedding is a thing in SA, you need to bring your own LED lighting. There were a few candles placed around the room, but not sufficient to light the house. We did however appreciate the solar light in the stairwell and kitchen that turned on with movement. The pool area is lovely. The braai grill however, was as dirty as I've ever seen! Caked with dried blood, I assume. And there were no cleaning utensils to use. No wire brush or scrubbing brush we could find. You could never put your meat onto the grill. Even fire did not remove it. So take your own braai grill. Driveway is extremely tight if you have a larger vehicle. If your mirrors don't fold in, you might have a problem getting in/out. Not sure I'd recommend it. You can get better value for your money elsewhere.
House is pretty, however the bathrooms were so horrible, the property is not managed well. We were told if towels are dirty our deposit will be held. We went with 10 females who wore make up, we literally had to use our own towels because we were so scared to even use their towels we put towels on pillow cases to ensure they do not get dirty. We were so scared to even use the dishes because the lady told us they would keep the deposit if anything was damaged. We bought paper cups and plates to use! After our stay a week past they did not refund us we called and the lady accused us of breaking two glasses. We counted them before we left so we knew all were there we even left 1 of our own glasses there so there was extra! Yet she accused us of breaking it and stealing a plastic cloth. Two weeks have passed and she has not refunded us back! The service is so poor the facilities are horrible. I would definitely not recommend this.
Location is beautiful, but unfortunately we did experience some issues. Electricity was out for about 2 hours, and there was only one candle to light for the whole house. The upstairs floorboard didn’t sound stable at all when people were walking on it. The house is lovely but definitely needs some work done to it. The linen didn’t feel very clean either. If these could be improved on, then definitely would be a 5/5 stay.
Was looking forward to an awesome weekend away but was highly disappointed. House is decorated beautifully and very spacious. However the upkeep and maintenance is very poor. The bathrooms were not cleaned and smelt awful. Crockery and cutlery were all dirty and had to wash everything before using it. Pool was not cleaned. There was no water and no electricity so it wasn't much of a holiday. I would not recommend this house to others for those reasons.
Very Nice Beach House & View unfortunately the pool was very dirty and we could not use the pool when we wanted to cause of the dirt. we had to wait till the next day for them to clean it. The outside cottage was absolutely terrible with no lights and a broken door. it had a very bad odour that no one could even sleep there that 4 of our guests had to squash up and sleep in the main house because the smell and everything was unbearable. would not recommend anyone to stay here for a weekend getaway or a holiday. as it is not worth it for so much of money.
We recently stayed there with friends. Contrary to the following statement on the website "The photos portray the house exactly how it is" we could not find the bath tub in any of the 3 bathrooms.... it might sound silly but as a mother of 5 year old girls who aren't used to showering it can be quite challenging. Went there with expectations that were not met entirely.
The pool was not as blue as the pictures, was green and disgusting. The floor in the upstairs bedroom creaked, all bathrooms had grime. The kettle looked as though fungi was growing in it. Was a terrible state and didn't feel like a get away as I spent the whole weekend washing dishes before using it. Wouldn't advice anyone to visit this guest house.
I enjoyed everything about this place what i liked most is the beach it is in 10 minutes walkable distance. Nearby activities: The beach is close by the beach house.
Wow, what a beautiful villa. I was a bit skeptic due to the reviews I read, but after staying there I know they are completely unfounded. Was perfect for my family and friends as we could relax and braai while the teenagers took a quick stroll to the beach. Can't wait to book again! Thanks Alida. :
