Paid for M group and we got lower group some old dirty car from 2013 that they tried to pass as a 2021 Merc Vito. Told us that our rental was the 2021/2 Excusive Vito we had paid a lot for only to uncover the deceit at their offices. Total rip off. Do not go there.
Pathetic car hire experience. On arrival there were 2 customers being attended to. After about 15 minutes they were still not dealt with. One of them then kindly asked that I be attended to as his problem was going to take a while. Well my joy was short lived as the agent who was obviously green told me the system was very slow. Well it took another 15 minutes before I insisted that the rental be done manually which it was. I took the tyre and windscreen cover for an extra amount. The next day we had a puncture early in the morning and had the tyre changed. However Thrifty tried to charge me over R1000 for the puncture despite my taking cover and up to now 3 weeks later have not responded to emails. Now they have had the audacity to debit my card without any authorisation having previously released the deposit. Downright fraud. Do not use.
The branch is clearly scamming the clients with charging undue fuel. When I got the car the tank was empty and I got clearly said that I should take the car back with the same level of fuel. It took them more than 2 weeks to reimburse the deposit discounted by a full tank refueling. It's been 2 months now with multiple calls and mails. Avoid at all cost.
First time I used Thrifty. Affordable rates. Its good that's their are competition between companies. One thing we have today is options. Not sure what other rental companies has on their daily kilometers limit, but don't agree with only 400kms in a day, to pay for every km after that it can become expensive. The options are of good variety. Thank you Damian for your assistance. Well trained staff.
Unfair Customer Services To avoid additional costs and issues during your travel ensure you read your rental invoice thats emailed to you clearly before leaving to avoid confusion. What's spoken in words is sometimes not placed onto paper. I had a response to my review to contact customer care with more about my experience. I did, and I got no response. To add to it the 14 days have passed to receive the balance of our refundable deposit. They do not take our calls and do not reply to our emails. This is unfair Thrifty car rentals. And when you find this,please check your emails. Thank you
Stay away they take forever to refund the deposit. Other car rental companies refund within 3 days. Currently waiting 24 days for refund..... Use it dont use it up to you...... After waiting 16 days I was informed that it might take up to 14 working days.... After emailing as the manager suggested I have not had any response on my emails
We booked a vehicle more than a week ago, only to come here, no staff in sight, eventually got hold of someone, and was told their vehicles is 40minutes delayed!!!!!!!!! We have to be in our next destination within 30minutes.!!!!!! A disgrace, no service no vehicles, maybe close the branch. I am canceling and want my money back immediately!!!!!!!! The only person on duty is showing the 1 client the vehicle and doing inspection, you are almost sure they were buying the vehicle!!!!! I am definitely reporting this to the airport itself!!!!!!!!!! Make sure to double check your invoices! Only after I queried the fuel charges and requested a detailed invoice justifying the amount the took out of my accountwithout notifying me, they said that they made a mistake and will be refunding. I wonder how many people they casually overcharged and got away with it. From my perspective that's blatant theft
Great service from the gentleman at the front desk. Efficient service with a smile both on collection and delivery of the vehicle. Four stars for pricing, admittedly they did not have any group A vehicles available, so I had to upgraded. Still, pleasant experience.
DO NOT MAKE USE OF THIS CAR RENTAL SERVICE! Spare yourself your money and time. Worst client service ever! No calls are being answered except if you want to make a reservation. Our deposit of R6000 is still not released and its been more than a week after successful inspection and return of the vehicle.
