Tlopi Tented Camp

Such a fun camping experience. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. They provide bedding, towels, and kitchen supplies, which makes it easy to visit. Note: the power does go out so bring headlamps. Walkability: You shouldn't walk in the surrounding area. You should stay within the electric fence.

Breathtaking views with a wild untouched atmosphere, in need of maintenance but still a good getaway , Power is a issue with it going off and on the weekend we where there, so bring a spare light and make sure you have ice keep food and beverages cold.

My first visit to Marakele National Park - What an unforgettable place! The tents have a spacious deck and braai that overlooks the dam and the mountain. Animals came down to drink quite often - also a birders’ paradise! The tents were clean, well looked after and overall just amazing! I would recommend clear road signs so that day visitors don’t accidentally drive into the camp.

What a peaceful place with n stunning view. Accommodation very clean and well equipped. Had a great stay and will definitely return. Can recommend it. Only thing that buged a bit was the towels provided which appears a bit old and is hard a scratchy.

Stunning view with a dam and mountains. Saw lions across the dam and there was a hippo in the dam. Facilities also everything you want with more than enough space. Had an excellent time.

Nestled between indigenous trees and on the bank of a small dam, is this well laid out tented camp. There are 10 permanent tents with ensuite bathroom and own kitchen. You have a porch with a braai over looking the dam, where different types of animals can be observed quenching their thirst. The tent I stayed in, was clean and tidy. Be aware of the vervet monkeys. They will raid your kitchen if the door is left open or not locked. The road towards the camp was in a terrible condition. High clearance or 4x4 is a strong recommendation. The camp is commendable.

Wonderful place for a real bush experience. Basic, but with everything you need. Lovely view over the dam and not many people
