MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Toastmasters is for all people 18 years or older who want to improve their communication and leadership skills.
Toastmasters International is a non-discriminating organization. No person shall be excluded from membership in a Toastmasters club, and no member shall be deliberately discriminated against, in
the conduct of Toastmasters programs, because of the following: age (except those persons under 18 years of age), race, color, creed, gender, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, physical or
mental disability Each club member, through his or her own efforts, must be able to participate in the program.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF TOASTMASTERS INTERNATIONAL
After you attend a meeting, you can apply for membership of a particular club (minimum age 18.) At the meeting, ask for a membership application form, complete this and hand it to the Vice
President Membership. The members of the Club will grant approval once you have shown your commitment to attend and to participate on a regular basis, usually after three meetings.

COST OF MEMBERSHIP
New membership fee of $20 payable to Toastmasters International (TMI). The club officer will send your application and the New Membership Fee Plus the Semi-annual membership fee to Toastmasters’ World Headquarters. Your New Member Kit will be mailed directly to you at the email address you provided. Please return duplicate manuals to the Club, as the Club provided you with manuals on aceptance of your membership. Estimate the $20 at approximately R160:00 to cover
bank charges when paid online. Semi-annual dues These vary per Club. To be paid in advance in September and March. Pretoria 2000 Club is R450 per six months, and Pretoria East is R480 per six months,
NOTE: The Semi-annual dues includes the amount of $27 (USA dollars) membership dues which must be paid by the Club in advance to TMI head quarters per member. This amount also includes dues levied per club and per member by District 74. Regular reports from Executive officers are provided at the Club Business Meetings, at which all members are expected to be present. Attendance fee for each meeting is usually between R40 and R70 per person, payable on attendance at each meeting, irrespective of whether food or snacks are provided. Please advise the Vice President Education if you prefer “vegetarian” and if you eat no chicken or fish. Cash bar, tea or coffee, costs are additional.
Attendance at Conferences and training sessions for Club members. Budget for additional costs for attendance fees. Depending on available finance, the Club may help to sponsor your attendance fee.
Visiting and Membership at another TMI Club. You are welcome to attend the meeting of any other open Toastmasters Club in the world as a visitor, and can also join that Club, by paying the regular six-monthly membership fees per Club. Call or e-mail in advance (if possible) to confirm your attendance, and to confirm the meeting time and location.

BENEFIT OF MEMBERSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
A new member is in good standing as soon as the new member application and appropriate fees and dues are received at TMI World Headquarters. In order to be eligible to run for Toastmasters office, to participate in a Toastmasters speech contest, and for the club to be eligible to vote at the district and regional conferences and at the International Convention, each member and club must be in good standing with Toastmasters International.
Membership and Club dues must have been paid and received at Toastmasters World Headquarters in advance for the period April through September, and for the period October through March. If dues are not paid prior to the next dues renewal period, the member or the club will be dropped from active status.

By affixing his/her signature on the application, the new member is certifying acceptance of the Member’s Agreement and Release statement and A Toastmaster’s Promise.

To complete the form online, the Club Officer must confirm (1) that a completed new member application for this member is on file with the club and will be retained by the club. (2) The application contains both the signature of the new member and the signature of a club officer. By
affixing the club officer signature on the new member application, this certifies that this member has joined the club and will receive proper orientation and mentoring.

Toastmasters membership number as USERID and use your password number supplied. Members can shop, update their profile, and access the current issue of the Toastmaster magazine.
Visitors can view literature and interesting information and read previous editions of the Toastmaster magazine that is now available on the web site.
Lost Password: this requires manual confirmation that you are a member in good standing of the specific club, and is not automatic. A human will reply to your email address. Provide member number, Club number, First name, last name, e-mail address and relevant comments.
