Toula’s Greek Restraurant is owned by Paul Fagas, the original owner of Toula’s Taverna in Hatfield. Toulas is THE best place in town for Greek food!
Some of the favourite dishes are our home made pita breads with Taramasalata or Melitzanosalata dips. Our Melitzanes (fried brinjals) and the Goat’s Cheese & Sundried Tomato Spring Rolls. The Souvlakia in Pita is always a winner and there is no denying our Fillet Riganato or traditional Moussaka. The Calamari and Prawns are enjoyed by all but let’s not forget about dessert!!! The classic Baklava or Fruit topped Galaktoboureko are devine but our Goat’s Cheese & Black Cherry Cigars in phyllo pastry and dark chocolate sauce are to die for.
There is a deli situated within the restaurant where you can purchase some Greek classics…olive oils, olives, feta, Halva, Greek pasta’s, teas, cheeses & yoghurts, to mention but a few. Should you be hosting a function, you can order a variety of our dishes & dips from the deli for your guests to feast on. We also accommodate our clients at the restaurant for functions such as Christenings, Baptisms, Birthdays, Baby Showers, etc.
The restaurant interior is beautiful, elegant and exudes warmth. There are natural tones and textures with a splash of colour. You get a warm, cosy feeling accompanied by friendly faces and of course amazing food.
There is a lovely kids play area outside, as well as items for sale to keep the young ones occupied while we fill their tummies from our kids menu. We also have a family restroom with a baby-changing facility…always a necessity for moms with babies.
The centre, with its garden setting and big trees has very much an outdoor look and a feeling of being away from the daily chaos of life… so come, relax and enjoy with us.
Toula’s Greek Restraurant is owned by Paul Fagas, the original owner of Toula’s Taverna in Hatfield. Toula's was Paul’s godmother, sadly she is no longer with us but her spirit still lives on. We re-opened Toula’s on 25 June 2015. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful lifestyle centre called In Shere which is based in Shere, Pretoria East.
We had been wanting to re-open Toula’s for a while now but we were looking for the right spot. We decided to drop the ‘Taverna’ and just call it Toula’s as we wanted to do things a little differently this time round. We wanted to have some fusion between the traditional Greek food and some interesting new additions. The restaurant has a modern feel without losing its warmth and of course has a hint of ‘village’!
We serve traditional Greek dishes as well as some Greek fusion dishes…Greek with a twist! There are no main meals on our menu, all dishes are mezedes. The idea is to order a variety of different items, place them in the centre of the table and enjoy the feast, together, in a more sociable way.
