The gym itself is nice, quiet and clean. The pool os a bit green with some algae along the one side. The service from the receptionist and the sales consultant I spoke to was not friendly, nor welcoming. I am not a Collection member and wanted to come and check-out the gym to maybe upgrade sometime in future. The sales consultant basically gave me a mini lecture on how things work, which definitely was not the way I expected to be treated by such an expensive place. More than happy to understand that not everyone is welcome here without a membership, but rather just send me away.
Very bad service.... I forgot my stuff at the gym and when I called back at the reception they took forever to answer my call and eventually I got hold of the manager his name is Andy. he was very unfriendly and giving me hard time to help me just to check if my stuff is still there. Most useless manager I have ever deal with.....This supposed to be a VIP gym and we paying expensive premium and we get this kind of poor service from the reception and manager. unacceptable!!!! definitely cancelling my membership and switch over to other service provider!!
A flagship of what gyms should look like. Excellent service and pristine facilities. They do however need flags in the pool for backstroke swimming.
Love this gym! Can do better maintenance with the small things, such as certain lockers not always working, private dressing room doors not closing properly, or the lights dimming randomly all the time.. Other than that, one feels good after leaving this gym. They have it all: aqua lounge, swimming pool, Nü health bar, great classes - even aerial yoga, amazing showers and locker rooms, shoe valet, great Wi-Fi, beautiful outdoor spaces, free fruit and water, the list goes on... The staff is so friendly and welcoming, too.
Walked into the gym delt with the gentlemen at front desk named Tshepo, scanned my cardVirgin Active premium membership the gentleman told me: “Sorry sir you a premium member this is a VA Collection gym you won’t have access here, but the other VA is right around the corner just down the road” caught off guard not even knowing the difference between Collection and Premier I explained that “VA continues to be affected by load-shedding and I work right around the corner from this branch with no loadshedding and I’m also here from Cape Town what is the price difference to join up at this particular gym?”buying signal He then Responded: “You paying around R600 this club is R1400”. I then suggested out of my own to speak to a sale consultant which I then spoke to Patrick , coming over asking “How can I assist?” I said “hey buddy can we setup a appointment next week as I’m leaving to capetown I’m currently premier member and I’m actually interested” buying signal bearing in mind this was at 5pm today 26th April 2023.. he suggested I take down his number and I left having to go back to VA down the roadSo he now at this point doesn’t have my name or number to possibly have a lead to follow up next week as I need to call him back as he suggested now bearing in mind your product you selling The gym facility cost your sales team nothing to identify a potential customer and my problem and solving it by possibly getting me to upgrade. This message is not aimed at how the public views the gym but specifically to how your staff is trained, especially your sales department and I’ve seen guys at a robot selling pens more eager than what I’ve experienced today. And the only reason this post got a 2star rating was because I walked into a building with Air-conditioning Happy selling!
Collection. Fantastic gym! Super clean, friendly staff and more than enough equipment. Always ample machines and equipment available.
Facilities are world class, very clean, equipment is new and well maintained. The only annoying thing is people eating fruit in the bathroom.
For a moment it felt like I'm in Cape Town while in Pretoria. This is definitely a Premium Top Tier Virgin Active I've ever been at. My heart, body and soul is at PeaceI'm very humbled by the service rendered. I'm blown away by the entire gym tour and the experience that I have. Thank you V/Active Menlyn Maine.
Terrible experience while renewing our bank details. They left us waiting for 40 minutes and put us to speak on the phone with someone from Sales who could not seem to understand nothing we were saying we had to spell our names at least five different times. Manager and staff did not do anything other than apologizing. That’s disrespectful, unprofessional and unacceptable. Still not sure if I’ll be back to this gym that treats people like garbage.
This gym is new, with the newest facilities and luxurious interior. They offer variety of free services such as steam ironing, shoe polish and free fruits. They offer towels at the front desk, lockers with codes and swimming caps are not compulsory. Classes are of great teachers and are less people in a class so you can get more attention to posture and training habits. Spa section consists of a warm pool with bubble massage. Steam and dry sauna and enlarged shower spaces. They have a swimming costume dryer to dry your wet costumes. and you can just chuck your towel in the towel booth when you leave. Good value for money if you go as often as you can. It is quite expensive so be realistic according to your schedules and routine.
