Last night we visited the Ocean Basket Jeffrey's Bay. We absolutely loved our dinner. The food was prepared and served promptly. We complemented the chef as it was extremely tasty and freshly made. We ordered Sushi rainbow rolls and salt and pepper crispy calamari tentacles to start. Well priced and very yummy. Then we ordered for mains the Queen prawns with an extra side of calamari tubes...finger licking good. As well as the prawn and calamari combo...just fabulous . The grilled mix veg was perfect and the side salad was so incredibly fresh and generous! Our table service was excellent with the owners and the manageress also checking to see if we were happy. This restaurant I believe is under new ownership. We wish this young couple everything of the best. If we lived here this would be our favourite spot. It ticks all the boxes. View of the ocean, great food and excellent service. Not to mention well priced. Vegetarian options: A huge choice of seafood and fantastic veggie/salads, not to mention fresh sushi. Kid-friendliness: Children are welcome as it is a family restaurant. Parking: Secure parking right at the venue with car gaurd in attendance. Wheelchair accessibility: There are stairs to the restaurant that has fantastic views over the ocean. And, there is a lift currently being serviced.

This place is spacious and has a great view of the ocean. The seafood is tasty and fresh. Great and friendly staff. Reasonable prices and great desserts. A family vibe and nice music too.

I took my wife to OB this afternoon for her birthday dinner. We ordered a platter for 2 an my brother in law who went with us ordered a fisherman's platter for one. I was very disappointed because the fish was overcooked and dry. The calamari was chewy and the rice was dry. I eat at various OBs in my life and this was the first time I got such a lack of good food. I informed the waitress of the problem and she told me that it is because they don't use hake but angel fish, and that I was not the first customer for the day who complained about the the fish. I will not mentioned the waitresses name because she did her job well, more than I can say of the chef or manager.
I was expecting better, because its costal but everything was still average, did taste better in the past by ocean basket
