An Indigenous Tree Nursery
Nestled between the Wilderness lakes lies a growing treasure. Over 20 years ago, Trevor began his nursery. In a small shade-cloth lean-too he propagated seedlings and nurtured them to adult hood.
In keeping with the rules of nature, Trevor structured his nursery as would the indigenous forest - tall trees towering over and protecting the smaller seedlings, ferns and lilies nestling at their roots.
Unfortunately, a few years ago, Trevor passed away, leaving his legacy and passion for nature in our hands to uphold. His nursery still nestles in the foot hills of the Outeniqua Mountain Range. Seeds he lovingly hand planted are now towering trees, 8 feet tall.
