Truekrav is an independent studio that provides true combat training.

Description

Our objective is to teach you how to react and survive in a true combat situation, full-stop !!!
We are not a dojo, martial arts or lifestyle centre. We are a combat training facility.
Training will be tough, uncompromising and exhausting and physical and mental breakdowns do occur.
We require that our students adapt to our mentality of combat and this leads to True Krav Maga Cape Town being private but certainly not closed.

This school is excellent. Etienne and his team have a format that is intense and doesn’t shy away from the realities of what you can face, but at the same time takes safety very seriously and everyone can feel welcome whatever their level. It’s also a great option if, like me, you are visiting Cape Town and want to continue training while abroad. I’ll be back for sure.
I lead a very active life but crime in Cape Town has hit too close to home for me. I had a home invasion one evening when I was sleeping. Suddenly I felt completely unsafe in a city that I used to live in care-free. I decided to seek out training at Truekrav and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have gained so much in terms of learning self defence and I can’t recommend them enough. They more than delivered on what they promised me before I signed up, and that is very rare today.
A thorough and realistic approach to self-defense. From a women's perspectiva, this training is very empowering. You need to be tough to train, just like you need to be tough to survive - and if you're not yet, this training will toughen you up!
TrueKrav is a great place if you want to learn how to defend yourself. The trainers offer a no nonsense approach. The classes offer a range of support from other instructors to members - everyone is ready to help you learn and push you out of your comfort zone. Highly recommend attending a few sessions to learn some self defence.
My daughter and I attended a Truekrav workshop today, which was two hours long. It contained just the right balance of information and then practical exercises on how to potentially disarm a gun or knife wielding assailant. Self - defense is neither glamorized nor romanticized. The facts are presented and techniques are taught by the owner of the studio, Etienne and his fellow trainers. The atmosphere is calm, not intimidating and focused. All the trainers are soo professional, courteous and skilled. All in all, a very worthwhile experience. had an idea of the steps that go into deciding what to do if confronted by a gun wielding assailant or someone with a knife
I am not one to spontaneously join anything really, and after my trial class at Tru Krav I made the decision then and there to join. The value of skills and knowledge gained from these classes are undeniable. This community and the instructors truly care about your safety and well-being, unlike most self defense classes which, in my experience, have really only been about the money. I couldn't recommend anything more, honestly, and I am so glad I decided to try something new the day I did the trial class.
Highly recommend. Very practical, very relevant to our environment in SA. Will give you skills you hope you never need.
Best place for self defense no nonsense stuff very intelligent coaches and knows how to handle beginners to experts at appropriate levels
