Umkomaas Lodge

Hi, the room we stay in was room A. There's no hot water in the kitchen and bathroom basin, no secure parking. Parking is share and need to move your car in and out. The bed in the room is not a queen or double just two beds stick together. This is very uncomfortable. There was also cockroaches in the room running around. Not a very nice experience. We book out after the first night. We struggle to get our money back, due to the fact that what was said on the web site is not what you get.

We took a drive out there beforehand to take a look at the unit as we do not know this holiday destination. We went and looked at the unit that we would be taking as we require our two little dogs to stay with us and access to the outside is important, all was well and we left. When we arrived on our actual booking date, we were told that someone with a bad attitude refused to leave our unit even though it has been booked. We, therefore, had to be accommodating in taking other units. Well what do you do when the whole family is now there and expecting a holiday....... we had to take the other accommodation. We felt like we were not important even though they apologized. There was no working tv or working aircon or wifi as the advert says and as we were told on our first visit. We also found that when you are not there they open your unit for viewing to potential clients.....shocking. Oh by the way the restaurant Waves was also closed down......

There isn't any other place along the coast that offers breaker views with panoramic scenes and romantic sunrises on the the Indian Ocean. The rooms are clean and well kept with recent upgrades done with tiling additions to help withstand the harsh ocean environment. The staff go out their way to make sure that guests are taken care of. Give the lodge a try, it's ideal for a couples getaeay. The premises is not wheelchair friendly and has secure parking with nightwatch to ensure vehicle safety.

The room was clean and cleaned every morning, towels renewed The building itself could need some renewals. The staff was kind, we didn't have any issue. There is a secure parking lot.Rooms: 4/5

Our experience was Amazing. Exactly like expected. Beautiful Beach view. Clean room with air-conditioning. And very friendly hostess. We will definitely visit again

Had a fantastic stay here after doing a couple of dives in the area. I was upgraded to a lovely room with a sea view and aircon which I was very greatful for! and loved all the little touches in the room from rusks for tea/coffee to amenities in the bathroom. All staff very friendly and helpful, I had a nice meal at the Waves restaurant downstairs and enjoyed some time on the beach and in the tidal pool in the morning :

There is no aircon in the rooms, very expensive, R2100 per night, the paint are peeling off the walls, scaffolding in front of rooms, swimming pool no water. We were promised a refund for our second night and never received it as we paid for 2 nights but could only stay one.Rooms: 1/5
