Upington Airpot

When it says 'International Airport', you would expect to at least be able to buy a coffee whilst you wait. The airport was was functional but not particularly inviting. Some personality and some places to sit and wait comfortably with a coffee would be a great addition.

Security is rude and not very pleasant. Their airport really needs a kiosk. So we had an very unpleasant experiance 6 May had to fly at 13:00 and the flight was delayed to 18:00 we were told that another plane will be sent..Long story short the plane was fixed and we left 19:20..We were offerd a sandwich and cold chips with a coldrink twice on this 6 hour delay ..Wifi did not work ..at least they now have a vending machine.We could charge our phones at the one end of the building. As it was getting late we demanded updates as some of us needed to amend our traveling arrangement..No updates were given..I did not think they are trained in this situation. The security once again did not meet my expectations as they scanned me and then proseeded to search me without concent...

What a disappointment. 15 September loadshedding at airport. Generator did not work so therefore bags could not be scanned. Not really use to if no power how to search bags if a fire breaks out don't want to know what will happen as they were not organized for this. Flight was delayed with 20 minutes due to manual search of bags that they could have started earlier but only when supposed to open boarding then they started to get personal to search bags. Worst of all there was no circulation as only door that could help with circulation was held closed by a security guard. For an international airport definitely not standard to be international airport

The parking spaces are a bit awkward, and the rates are pretty high for such a short stop!

Must be the only "international" airport in the World without a coffee kiosk/shop or even a working coldrinks dispencing machine. No restaurant, no nothing!

Great little airport and very neat and clean and well kept. Interesting that this is actually an international airport and there was a Boeing 747 parked on the side of the airport building which was awesome. Friendly staff and excellent service. Thank you. JGT

Professional and well run airport. I arrived from Johannesburg and I hardly waited for my baggage, the staff were really helpful. What a difference it makes!!

Very nice airport tipical of a small and relaxed town. Don't try here to have the boarding card, to rent a car or to drop your luggage before the 8.00 AM ... nobody will take care to you.

30 sept 22 afternoon arrival from JHB. In and out if the airport, easy to find your way, all went smooth, very nice ladies there at Avis, helpful and professional driver took me through the hired car inspection, patiently and was thorough,

I love this airport. It's super small, cozy and the service is outstanding. Of course, free wifi access is a given and check-in, security stop and boarding is super easy. The landing is made outstanding due to the unique flat, semi-desert landscape that gives stunning views from above.
