Even a Spaza shop is run better, to be honest. The owner of this Vhueni Village Lodge simply doesn't care about the cleanliness of the establishment. We made a group booking months in advance, but they didn't bother to clean the rooms. My chalet had lizard droppings. The headboard, mini bar fridge, remotes, table had thick dust. Toilet sink was grimmy. We had to fumigate, dust and mop the Chalets ourselves, yet we paid for clean rooms - totally unacceptable. The bed was falling apart and was so old. The place is in a good location and the yard is fine. But on cleanliness, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone - ever.
Very bad service, rooms not clean enough if I knew I would have brought my own cleaning products. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone sorry.Rooms: 2/5
I don't think it is a lodge. One would conclude that it is an African Chief's compound with many wives and children. Around 5:30 a.m., there was loud music from one rondavel while everyone was talking to each other on top of their voices, strangely happily. Around 7 a.m., sweeping and wheelbarrow pushing activities took place. It was chaos! The room was incredibly small for R570, a different price we were told to pay instead of R380 on bookings websites. The not-so-white towel was dangerously dry for any type of skin. We were in room 18, the TV and aircon did not function. The curtain was small; we had to shift it both ways depending on where we were standing undressed. There was no teaspoon for the one sachet of coffee, one for creamer and one for rooibos provided. The shower and the toilet are open plan; after taking a shower we had to be careful of our steps because water was all over the poor small room without a door handle. There was no mop to dry it. Cars park between the rondavels. One needs an advanced driving skill to enter and to exit. You could hear anyone starting their engine. It was the worst experience of my lodging life.
The service was not great at all. The receptionist was not organized, he did not have the correct information from those managing the bookings about names and payments made. The service was slow, and the receptionist would walk out of check in area, in the middle of a conversation without saying anything. The towels were very hard/stiff. The bathroom was too small, you had to sit side ways to use the toilet. The shower knobs were too hot and were dripping, so they would burn you when they dripped and when you tried to close them after a shower. Parking was a nightmare, spaces were small and the receptionist knocked on our door around 10pm to move the car. There were only 2 instant coffee satchets in a 3 sleeper room. The pillows were really hard and there were no substitutes. Good things to appreciate was a bed to sleep on under an air conditioned roof.
Their rooms are dirty. They limit food. Cockroaches and Mosquitos in the dining hall and rooms. They don't clean under the beds. No aircons. Small shower room, no parking, dirty and stinking blankets. And lot more. Everything is a mess nje.Rooms: 1/5
I booked online but they never responded then I called to book when I arrive around 5pm I found a man out side cleaning the yards I went to the main gate and knocked till i.get tired then I call the land line no one respond then I.called the cell number no one picked up .after a while the man who were cleaning the yards came and open the gate then.
