Great place for work out. It has all the equipment you would need. The other great thing is the swimming ‍ pool. The gym area is big as well.
I must say The Cresta Virgin Active Club has one of thee most interesting entrances I have come across one with an elevator one which is stairs a very lovely touch for the enthusiastic gym goer. Small gym compared to others yet it has every facility you can think off. Vibe as always optimistic , extra bonus if they have a Kauai. Ample parking and lovely guards .... Best highlight was the view over looking the streets while you work out.
Load shedding has been here for years now, and is clearly here to stay. No back up power to even keep the lights on. It’s easier for staff to usher the people out and go home earlier. Really disappointing as other gyms are making more of an effort during load shedding.
They don't have adjustable cable machines for your chest workouts, no sauna but there is a steam room in the men's bathroom. Decent amount of equipment available
Great place to gym but definitely room for improvement. There is limited cardio machines such as row machines and during load shedding there is no generator to keep power on. It is shocking that there isn’t backup power due to the high membership and fees.
A great old school gym! There is also a nice coffee shop / restaurant. There is an indoor pool. My physiotherapist works from here so I go train there when I have an appointment with him.
I have been going to this gym for the past eight Years and I only have two complaints: 1 The free weights section as well as the machine section was a bit old an outdated when I first visited the club eight years ago. Since then no equipment has been upgraded or added to the before mentioned sections. I really believe that it's time to invest in new equipment such as VA Groenkloof or VA Honeydew 2 It really does not take a large generator to keep all the lights on. Extremely frustrating when the club is forced to close at night when loadshedding hits. The club is clean and well managed by friendly staff. The team is doing their best with what they have. I do however believe that the club will be required to upgrade their equipment if they wish to retain their existing clientele as well as attract new members.
Great gym. Friendly, helpful and professional staff. No need to feel self conscious here no matter what body type. We're all here to get fit, so we can live healthier lives. Feel free, and do be curtious to fellow gym users staff and clientele. Thank you Karabo, Fortune and Dudu.
I have been a member of virgin active on and off for the past 15 years. With the membership fees being so expensive I do expect Cresta to have a generator during loadshedding. Equipment is seriously outdated and sometimes machines can't lift the different weights because the machines haven't been oiled/serviced in ages.
Nice gym, convenient parking. Pretty much has all the equipment you need, nice studios and a pool, which is awesome. We have had load shedding for 14 years and they don’t even have lights during load shedding? The staff just close the gym and go home early, it’s pretty pathetic. If there is load shedding in the morning, they just don’t open the gym?? Fees are similar to Planet Fitness, but the equipment is older, can’t keep lights on even though PF can for the same money. They need more squat racks, but that’s a pretty normal issue for gyms. Seems mostly clean. Nice staff mostly.
