Terrible joining experience that's still nor resolved. The agents are all very friendly and eager to sign you up but as soon as there's an issue then you don't hear from them again. Signed up end of November with a Vitality membership for me and my son. A week later I got charged R700 instead of the discounted vitality amount. I contacted the agent she told me she would forward Info on but she's on leave... I Contacted the call centre the agent said he would escalate and I'd be refunded and he would personally call back later and he didn't. Phoned the club asked them to ask someone to call me. Lunch time comes and still no one has called me so I call again and speak to the sales manager who was apologetic and asked me to come in and re sign the contracts as it must have been a system glitch he said so I went after work that night back to the gym to sign more contracts. Then Monday came and no call back so I went to the gym again to speak to the admin lady to try solve it. Then today I got charged another amount of R145. I've just been told to wait. The sales manager is also on leave now. My original sales agent who has not responded again to my questions has really left a bad view of the club . Even though she is on leave she did the deal and if there is an issue should check on that customers process to see if its resolved. Just stating "I'm on leave " when there's clearly been a mess up shows me that the agent was just interested in the sale and not me as a person or customer. I still have not received a refund. My membership shows deactivated. And even though I have vitality I'm down R845 after a week or so of joining. I do not get follow up calls to say what is happening and I've gone into the club to speak to them about 4 times about this. I expected more from Virgin Active. You cannot stand behind the brand and the club alone the customer service has to be on par with that and this time was a huge disappointment. Issue STILL not resolved.
The manager cant do his job. I have been trying to upgrade my membership for months now and no matter what I do whether its going into the gym with my ID or phoning the head offices he keeps on making excuses that the system is slow or down. The gym is a really nice gym, staff are overall pretty okay but you need to learn how to do you job! Nevermind cancelling your membership...

I love this Gym, however, it can do with some vibey music, it is too quiet, not sure if this is to accommodate everyone on their laptops, music please. Loud music
Virgin Active sent a message on 8 July telling me my son - who turns 18 on 12 August, will change to an adult membership effective 01 August for R610.00 per month. What an underhanded business approach - if you're going to notify members of a membership change, you do so before month-end so that they have the opportunity to decide if this option works for them. I only have my membership so that he can go to the gym. I have not been back since Covid and rediscovered outdoor options and have no intention of returning. If you'd had the courtesy to notify me before the end of June, I would have given a month's notice on my membership and continued his. But because you intentionally wait a week after month-end to notify members, you now get me paying a double membership for a month. Appalling way to treat your customers. Additionally, closing your gym early at Sun Valley because you are not equipped for load shedding - you should refund members for your lack of planning. Equipment is sub-standard, too.
Reggie helped me sign up nearly a year ago, and constantly checks up on me and my progress. He’s very helpful and a reliable.
Well equipped with sauna and pool as well. Shower facilities. Easy parking.
Waited 2 weeks for them to activate my husband and my vitality, even after we paid to activate.
