WEBERSBURG

About

Webersburg invites you to its elegantly restored Cape Dutch homestead and boutique winery. Dating back to 1796, the estate is a national monument that is nestled against the slopes of the Helderberg mountains in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands.

Description

Wine
Webersburg is a boutique winery that believes in the classic French tradition of low production per hectare, controlled fermentation and a high percentage of new barrels used with every vintage giving the wines great structure and complexity. Webersburg wines stand for finesse and character and possess good ageing potential. The winemaking is in the capable hands of Diners Club young winemaker of the year 2011, Matthew Van Heerden.

Bistro
Enjoy home-cooked French country food at our tasting room bistro overlooking the Webersburg dam and the Helderberg valley. Soak up the sun on the beautiful deck in summer or cosy up to the fireplace in winter.

Luxury Accommodation
Exclusive 5-star guest house at the elegantly restored Cape Dutch Manor House and Jonkershuis. Enjoy the best of the Cape hospitality in a historic setting.

Venue
Webersburg can be the setting to any special occasion or gathering. Celebrate a romantic winelands wedding or choose our historic cellar as your conference venue. The venue is perfect for both relaxed and formal affairs, bigger or smaller parties.

Went to a wedding there, it was an amazing venue, ample parking, so much open space. Geese, ducks and turkeys running around free and making their noises. Good service from the waiters and waitresses at the venue... My glass was never empty. Bathrooms were clean and no shortage on soaps, hand towels etc. Beautiful scenery. Would be nice to sit outside and just watch the world go by. The guest rooms were so dsrn luxurious and laid back, big couches, wooden floors, open spaces and paintings on the wall. I would stay there just to chill in that lounge. Very impressive
We loved the experience. We did the wine tasting, and had some pizza. Both were great. And the service was excellent. There's also a great view with a small pond and the mountains etc. And a kiddies playground.Service: 5/5
Absolutely amazing location, friendly staff. We had a work conference at this venue & spent 3 days there. They could really have paid more attention to our group and making sure we were taken care of. Poorly managed venue. Food was not great and lunch arrived late all 3 days. More attention to detail and customer satisfaction required.
We stayed in Jonkershuis 1. Two bedroom cottage. The staff were great and the location is wonderful but it ends there. This is not a 5* hotel the cottage is 2 stars at best. There is no inverter so during load shedding the living area and bathrooms are in complete darkness not even a lantern. The bedrooms have a bright fluorescent light which you can switch on which then emit a bright red light when off, and floods the room in a red glow. There are no heaters or a fireplace apart from the air-conditioner in the bedroom which obviously don't work during load shedding and neither does the warm water in the shower. The cold wind blows under the old barn door and through other gaps in the main door and it is freezing! The kitchen is very tired and the toaster didn't even work either. This cottage is in dire need of an upgrade.
We booked a picnic lunch at Webersburg. The location is lovely and we enjoyed sitting next to the dam. The picnic basket itself is quite overpriced. Some of the items were very nice and some very average - and it was not all according to what they advertise on their website. We live in the area and have done a picnic on several other wine farms. You can get the same kind of thing for ~60% of the price elsewhere or something really special and fancy if you're in this price class. We won't visit again, unfortunately.
Absolute heaven. The setting is beautiful, with cool old buildings, a mountain view, and a small lake full of geese. The beet root burger was very good but the chicken tikka burger was terrific. And the staff was wonderful.
Visited for lunch had Tikka chicken burger and my wife Beetroot burger, we were both very disappointed with what we received. Kiddies pizza was very good. Such a shame as the setting and rest of service was perfect.
My wifes birthday venue. Brilliant place beautiful views and great food. Very good service.Service: 5/5
If you are looking for a relaxing Sunday afternoon lunch with beautiful views and a brilliant bottle of 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon. This would be a number one choice.Rooms: 5/5
Husband and I visited for our 1 year Anniversary and ordered a picnic basket. We were very disappointed by the food. It was below average, cold and flavorless. The venue itself is very beautiful and the staff is friendly. Would not recommend the picnic, it is not worth the price. We would maybe try the restaurant instead to get fresh, warm food.
