Zandfontein Cemetery

If there is a more tranquil and beautiful cemetery in Pretoria it must be this one. I was advised to not arrive during the Saturday rush where up to 40 funerals can be taking place , or Sunday early morning where is can also be very very busy. I spend up to 4 hours just admiring the trees the different types of trees and many types of grave decorations. Very safe to be on your own.... apparently the most dangerous time is when it’s very very busy they break into cars and steal items. Otherwise I had thee most amazing experience at Zandfontein

I visit and clean my late Dad's resting place on a monthly basis for the past 39 years... since about 5 months ago, the entire cemetery had a great facelift again... grass is kept short, overgrowth had been cleared, trees trimmed, passages between the rows of graves are clean and accessible. To the staff and management, a great thank you from me

Grass so long, tree cuttings everywhere even on some of the graves.... where is the ground maintenance team??? Sad to see that some people have no respect for the dead. Management should ensure that the graveyard is kept clean, neat and safe.

Been there today and absolutely disgusted with the poor upkeep of the cemetery. The grass being uncut to such an extent that the smaller graves cannot be seen from the road and walking between the graves almost impossible. Very disappointed!!

Its been over a year and a half and the cement has not yet been applied to put the headstone on at U4.
