Great place all around! If you're looking to just stop in and get something to go or to sit and chat for a while. They also have great outdoor seating when it's warm out.

One of my favorite places, despite the short hours they're open. I'm very much NOT a morning person, especially after a long week, but I will set an alarm & drive down from Brunswick to have brunch at 158. If you've never been there you should know a couple of things ahead of time so you can just have a great experience. 1) 158 is TINY. If you arrive during a busy time for them then the line may be out the front door and if you're in line inside, the door or people may bump into you. Seating is almost always an issue. I discovered 158 in 2004 and it has been that way since then. In warm months it's easier with extra seating outside but inside seating may require patience to get. 2) There is no dedicated parking and they're right next to SMCC so parking is tight. You may need to park at the school and walk (its less then a 5 minute walk but I'm mentioning it in case someone can't do the walk). 3) Without a doubt, the bagels at 158 are some of the most AMAZING I've ever had and bagels are typically the breakfast I have when I'm on the go or traveling (which I've done a lot). I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating, but they'd rival some bagels I've had in NYC! If I'm just grabbing a quick bagel and coffee, I will grab a black coffee & plain bagel with plain cream cheese and be very content with my breakfast despite the blandness because It's so great. When you have more time, I highly recommend exploring the menu and spending the time to eat there. Hands down the atmosphere is great, the coffee is CBD & strong (but no iced coffee, unless something has changed) and the food is the best. If you've never been to 158, run there first chance you can; whatever the wait time or travel time is, it will be guaranteed to be worth it 😁

Good and healthy eats! Food is made from scratch at least of what we ate. Have vegetarian options
