My boy ran into a mesquite tree and got a thorn in his eye. It wasn’t big enough for an ER visit but definitely was bothering him. My usual vets were all booked out so I called in to this vet in desperation and got an appointment next-day they had a very lucky cancellation. My dog is not a big fan of women, being touched, or eye contact which was super inconvenient in this situation. He is VERY vocal too so I was super thankful that the staff were open to trying out a few things to get him as comfortable as possible and wasn’t scared to handle him, even though he was growling like a banshee the whole time. They even called a bunch of optometrists to get advice for his situation instead of risking damaging his eye if they yanked the thorn out. And they got me an appointment next-day with an optometrist too! However, unknowingly, when the vet was looking at it, she actually got it loose, so when I went home and did his rinse and antibiotic drops, it slipped right out! It costed about $260 for the whole ordeal which isn’t bad at all in comparison to the thousands I’ve spent at other vets because my dogs don’t ever look where they’re running. My dog loved watching the fish in our room while we waited and was feeling a lot better between all the treats and cheese whiz he got. But he definitely does not plan on visiting again any time soon.
This facility saved my dogs life. Even though they were at capacity they decided to triage my pet before turning us away. We had already been turned away by another facility so i was feeling desperate. After evaluation they decided my dog needed immediate care and they started treatment immediately. The staff was so kind and communicated every step and costs the whole time. Emergency care isn’t cheap so it’s great when you feel like they really care about you and your pet and not just billable services. Dr Lunt was especially kind and knowledgeable. I would recommend this facility in a heartbeat. It’s clean and well maintained and in a great location near the 101.
Been to First Pet on four occasions, for four different cats. On three occasions it was for emergencies. The wait varied from none at all, to several hours, depending on how many people were ahead of us, and what type of emergencies they had to treat. The staff is always caring and thoughtful. They are excellent at diagnostics, as they have all the equipment on site. This makes it so much easier to make the right decision for the care of your beloved pet. No, they're not cheap, but what medical care is? They're always open and I know I can always rely on them. Their doctors have all been very empathetic. I highly recommend them.
I was very stressed when I brought my dog in but they took her back right away to check her out. I loved how they gave complimentary snacks especially since I ended up being there for awhile. Even though they were very busy, I never felt like the staff was rushed. They took time to listen to me and do the best treatment for my dog. Also I loved the atmosphere. They had fish tanks throughout and beautiful artwork which helped eased my nerves.
I highly recommend 1st Pet Vet for emergency care! I took my foster kitten to a different 24 hour vet facility and waited for 2 hours, a tech came and asked some questions, but never opened the cat carrier or even visually check on my kitten. I was told the wait time to be seen would be another 4-6 hours. So I googled other 24/7 vets nearby and found 1st Pet. I arrived at 1st Pet at 11:30pm and there was no waiting! They checked me in as soon as I walked in and immediately brought me back to a room for triage and examined my sick little baby. I was super happy with Ricky, he was the vet tech who took care of us while there. I was in and out of 1st Pet and on my way home in less time than I sat waiting for nothing at the other vet tonight. So thank you 1st Pet Vet!!! I really appreciate the care provided and quick service tonight!!
1st pet was amazing at my recent visit. I rushed in with my cat of 16+ years, who was fading fast. I was a mess, and they were fast, caring, informative, and knowledgeable. They took my Callie back in the back and got a catheter in her and worked her up. I made the tough decision to let her go and felt their understanding and support. I held her and said goodbye and she fell peacefully to sleep. The entire staff was amazing and kind. They also sent a card with her prints, and many of the staff personally signed the card. I will use them again without hesitation. I felt more compassion from them than my own vet. Thank you 1st pet.
Over the last few months we have taken both my dogs there for primary care. They are expensive but most employees seem to care. Fast forward to the last 3 days i have received calls way beyond normal business hours over a $37 balance, that only 1 employee seems to be aware of; the other employees see a credit balance. The person at the front desk yesterday could not locate the balance due after about 20 minutes of searching when I came in and pick up my pets records, She apologized and was shocked at my experience and assured me I would not be harassed again; guess who called at 9:46? Do better please!
