My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff was lovely, the art pieces were amazing, and our room was comfortable. The water pressure in the shower wasn't fantastic, but not worth dinging a star for that. I will however caution people about parking in the parking garage across the street. It may have been a completely fluke event, but my car was stolen from the garage during the stay. Be cautious and definitely take all of your valuables into the hotel if you are going to park in the garage.
I have a corporate event at the 21C and cannot say enough amazing things about the hotel and staff. I worked with Vanessa, she is WONDERFUL!!! So helpful and kind. The venue space is perfect for hosting an event, and the rooms are stunning and extremely clean. I will be recommending this property to all my coworkers for future stays! Thank you again Vanessa and team! -Allie :
This place is really cool, it's got art and a museum throughout. The staff is super helpful and nice. The prices are comparable to others but for what you get is amazing. The rooms are great with tall windows and setup to be comfortable, fresh and inviting. The gym is secure and updated, the Savoy has great food and drinks too. The location is within walking distance to the market and other areas. Parking is pay by the day, but only $10 unless you use the garage across the street. Overall you won't be disappointed!
Honestly, maybe the best hotel I've ever stayed in. It was a good deal when I was booking a spot for a work trip but then it turns out to be an amazing hotel. It's legitimately an art gallery and not just paintings on the wall with lots of vibrant and textured art. Wish I could have walked thru and seen more. The rooms were really big! And really well equipped. The staff were super friendly and thought about my future needs before I even realized. Next time I'm in KC I'm staying there.
A truly experiential hotel that delivers on all levels and exceeds expectations. The staff are intelligent and thoughtful... The rooms are immaculate and fresh. The art is fun while still being cool. Normally a hotel like 21c would be unobtainium. But not today, because this beautiful hotel is real, affordable and right here in KC. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Definitely eat at the Savoy, it was amazing.
I'll try to be as objective as possible with this Pros: It's a cute hotel and looks nice. It has a cozy charm to it. The staff is very nice and booking the room was easy to do. The museum section is quite small but it was an interesting feature for sure. The rooms were nice and clean. Cute couch included in the room. The bathroom was REALLY nice the sink did look like it needed some repair as it was chipping.. not sure if that's intentional or not. Everything worked. Bed was comfortable. The giant curtains are cool and they block out a ton of light so you definitely get a nice, dark room. Parking was free to the lot beside the building not sure for how long but it's not monitored. You do have to pay $10/night if you want that and park over in a different area across the street. Cons: Just wasn't worth the price. It was close to $300 for our room and it really didn't feel THAT different than a Super 8. While at first glance it looked amazing, once in the room, everything started to feel chintzy. For $300, I expected more. It was like they were trying to nickel and dime you after you already dropped a decent amount. The mini-fridge didn't open My guess is they want you to go down to the bar, maybe? The most egregious example of the stay was the breakfast. We had to pay, essentially, an extra $30 to get breakfast. Once again, for almost $300, shouldn't breakfast be included? The breakfast was very disappointing and felt like they were trying to cut corners. They had a tiny table-top warmer with potatoes which they were out of, eggs, and bacon. Now, the eggs and bacon tasted great. No complaints. But that was essentially it. Some coffee. A bagel, and like, 1 cereal to choose from. A granola bar. You could get an apple or banana. Once again, for $300... wouldn't you expect something better than a Super 8? In fact, Super 8 has better options lower quality food though. I wouldn't spend $15/plate on what we received. We sat down at the table expecting that maybe they'd offer juice or an omelet or something. Nope. No mixed fruit. Just eggs and bacon. Overall I feel like we paid a lot of money for a very middle-of-the-road experience. So yes, it's cute. It's a fun idea. It's not worth what we paid. If we go back, we'll find a different spot or just go outside of the downtown area and drive + walk to where we need to go.
Every single person I interacted with was warm, helpful, and very kind. The property is very cool and full of interesting things. The Savoy is absolutely a cool spot to check out. I will also say traveling with a dog couldn’t have been easier at this property. Definitely check them out on your next stay in KC
Not worth the price Specialty if your paying $200.00 a night. Now normally I wouldn't complain about such things, but considering the price, they're important to note. The room phone did not work, The mini fridge won’t open, the bathroom sink had brown spots it looked like blood stains, toilet didn’t flash properly, a flat rate of $10 to park per day and anytime you leave and come back you might as well tack on another $10 for how quickly it racks up. The hotel was clean and service was good, but I would recommend staying in a hotel outside of downtown that you could get better amenities, free parking and for a lower price. p.s. the museum is free and open to the public 24/7, and is considerably small, so if that is your considering point, hope that helps.
21c Museum Hotel is a trendy and unique stay in the heart of Kansas City. The staff is accommodating, which made this a relaxing weekend getaway for us. The penguin theme is unique and fun. We can’t wait to come back. The attached restaurant is delicious and I would highly recommend giving it a try, whether you stay at the hotel or not.
This is a very nice hotel, lots or very interesting art to see on the first and second floor. Our parking was across the street and only $10, we have paid $25 a night in KC. We felt very safe while moving around at night. The only complaint would be th TV, for what we paid you'd think the would have cable and at least 1 movie channel, but no, we couldn't get any television channels that came in clear, the TV was worthless. The breakfast was good, the menu was very limited. No omelets and I couldn't even get onions and green peppers in my eggs.
