The diner was cute. The burgers are named after old movie stars! Even though the service wasn't the best and their chili cheese fries could use some work it was overall a good diner if you're passing by or something.
The atmosphere is laid back and casual. They are a great place to have lunch. The food is home style and delicious. They also have a smoking section which if you are a smoker is a rare treat. But if you're not no worries there's a completely smoke free seating area as well.
Great breakfast at a great price...all this for six bucks.
My wife and friend took me to lunch for the first time here.OMG the food was fantastic and so much. Had the best lemon meringue pie in 60 years. The assistant manager waited on us. She was the bomb. Found my new favorite place. Thanks for a great experience.
Just left this place. First time ever eating there and before leaving I wanted to write a review. The entire kitchen staff should be fired. While we were waiting for our food, the kitchen staff had pizza delivered to them. What a joke and apparently the staff had four people in the kitchen. I went with a party of five, there were only ten other patrons and many of them were getting the check to leave. At our table, we order 2 hamburgers and chicken fried steak. A hamburger can be cooked in 5 minutes. A chicken fried steak, made from scratch, can be made in under 12 minutes. It took thirty minutes to get the food and there were NO CUSTOMERS, NO CUSTOMERS. The order was incomplete, I never received coleslaw that I ordered. A table next to us waited 20 plus minutes for breakfast and the table did not get their sausage links. The sausage links were precooked and were brought out COLD; hello, as lethargic and uncaring as the kitchen staff was/is could they not have put the precooked sausage link in a microwave. I would recommend this place for a North Korean citizen or a person who likes to smoke after a meal.
We waited for 10-15 minutes before we ever saw a waitress. We waited another 10 mins to get our drinks and another 45 to get our food. The only time the waitress came around was when she took/delivered our drinks and food, we weren't even told why there was such a wait. I would understand if the restaurant had been busy but there was only three other tables occupied, maybe three people per table. We ordered burgers and kids meals, the food was lukewarm and the burgers were basically charcoal. Not impressed and won't be returning
We use to eat breakfast and dinner here every weekend until we moved but we still eat here just not as often. The food is delicious, the main original staff is wonderful and even the regular customers are sweet. It's a great family environment place to get wonderful food and good company. It also takes you back to the 50's with the pictures, decorations on the wall & the music they play.
This place is so awesome. The biscuits are made fresh omg so good the gravy is made fresh. The service is fast, wonderful and friendly. The food came to the table just the way we ordered it. The temperature in the restaurant was good and all around a cozy environment. They have a separate smoking/vaping area as well.
We have been eating at 50s for over 30 years. Never a bad meal. Good service and an involved owner. Clean, reasonably priced and great food. I recommend 50's for a great eating experience. Just like you made it at home.
4 stars for good diner food. Nothing fancy. Smoking room is my favorite feature. Good prices on breakfast and daily specials. Good old boy regulars always furnish entertainment. Waitstaff have memories like elephants. They always remember how I take my coffee.
