I pass this place a lot on my various commutes and today I finally decided to hit the U-Turn and stop in. I'd have thought that they would be busier for lunch, but that isn't a dig, just an observation. The place has that old school dinner/greasy spoon feel that I adore. Very reminiscent of somewhere you'd stop on a road trip after a few hours in the car. My waitress wish I'd gotten her name was SUPER friendly. I was greeted when I walked in, she checked in on me, kept my drink fresh, and even set me up with a to go drink when I was on my way out. A+ service. On this outing I decided to run with a patty melt and curly fries. Everything arrived to he table fast, but quality didn't suffer a bit for it. The melt was hot, with mushrooms and onions cooked perfectly. The fries were amazing, crispy outside while soft on the inside. They had a satisfiying crunch when you bit into them. If you've ever been to a diner the price point was exactly what one would expect. In a world of gastropubs and haute cuisine where everyone is a "foodie" it's awesome to sit down in a place that does the simple stuff and does it well. 5 of 5, will be back.
After passing this place year after after & still haven't been it was time to go. It is a small little diner, and really liked the waitress, checked to make sure drink was filled and was friendly, I enjoyed my 1st visit.
Nice old fashioned diner with friendly staff and good food. I had the chicken fried steak with green beans, peaches, and a roll. Everything was very good. The chicken fried steak was not greasy, but was crisp and not soggy. The meal prices were good for the amount of food that you received.
Hard working wait staff. Only reason they get 2 stars. Came here this morning for breakfast, ordered biscuits and gravy, biscuits were hard as a rock, not fresh grave was nasty. Eggs were supposed to be over medium, came over hard. And the bacon was ice cold. To top it off, I waited over 30mins for this food, will never return, or recommend this place to anyone.
Pappy's is good, tuesday lunch special is lasagna and it's a worthy meal. I think 10 bucks for a bowl of stew, piece of cornbread, and a glass of tea is kind of pricey.
Awesome nostalgic feeling.. I went for the good ol greasy spoon kinda comfort food.i ordered the pappyburger. Mn did it look good, great taste too!! I definitely going to bookmark this place!
