It's a little hide away with friendly staffs, small bites and a good time. The beer selection is good though the wine selection is somewhat limited. I enjoy coming to this little pub whenever I'm staying in Brooklyn. It's a relatively short walk from my hotel and without the usual high price or attitude related to Manhattan.
I love this spot. Super high ceilings, great atmosphere, beautiful brick walls. The wait staff were nice, and attentive. The drinks were good and reasonably priced, and it's a nice place to both hang out with a lot of friends and meet new people. I would definitely come back here. Let me know if you find this review helpful. Thanks!
These guys really do have it all: - solid draft / cocktails / wine selection - tasty bar snacks hot and cold, large and small - a mini event space up top for local performances, variety shows, intimate musical gatherings. This place feels like it was once a dive bar that cleaned up, shaved and showered, but never lost that local bklyn heart and chill vibe.
This is nice little bar with a casual atmosphere. It has big tables where you seat yourself like a beer garden environment. The beers are all local and they have a food menu as well. The selection of local beers is pretty tremendous if your. The food is pretty good but nothing spectacular and it takes a while to get food. The place was a little short staffed but the staff present was helpful and friendly. This is more of a place to meet friends and get drinks or hangout to do some work. Not recommended as a place to go for a meal. Definitely a great place to go if you're looking to sample a bunch of local drafts.
The restaurant has an open, airy decor with plenty of space between communal tables, which I loved! The service, however, left much to be desired. I stepped away from my reserved table and went to the bar to order a drink. I ended up waiting for over ten minutes before being able to give my order, and watched three others get served before me - including a man who walked up to the bar after I did. I essentially had to ask for someone to help me place my order before being told offhandedly that the bartender would take my order. I can’t be certain what was going on, but multiple people were working the bar at that time, including two or three active bartenders. Quite a few people behind the bar walked past me as I waited, with no one acknowledging I was there....and I’m the only person who looked like me that was standing at the bar at that time. My friend - who was celebrating her birthday - frequents this spot and loves their food and the concept. It was my first time attending, and I’m very disheartened that this was my experience. I didn’t feel like it was the type of place I could give honest feedback about my experience, and did not feel comfortable until I left. I won’t be coming back. Rated as a two because I’m not sure why such a serious slip of customer service could happen with so many people at the bar at that time. The redeeming quality was that the bartender who came to serve me adjusted the price of my drink due to missing ingredients.
Great local bar with a large variety of beer. It has a very rustic feel to it and has long tables with bench seating. They also serve food some of which are provided by nearby bakeries. This place has a great sense of community, no frills, and even has special events there practically every week. This is also a family-friendly bar which can be a pro or con depending on your preference. Overall, I like this place as it is a chill place to grab a drink.
Nice environment. Really liked the atmosphere. Decent coffee and decent tea. Very convenient location. Not much in the way of a snack available but since the baristas were nice and I really liked the interior and relaxed vibe, I will happily patronize in the future!
Met up here with some friends from out of town + everyone's babies, and it was surprisingly accommodating. Good space, kid friendly-ish towards the back, but the bartenders didn't seem happy to see us until they realized that we were drinking/ordering food and not just a bunch of parents with young kids. The truffle grilled cheese was *excellent*, really. Honestly I was surprised that they had such good food options since the bartenders seemed either overwhelmed or unhappy that they were serving brunch. Would recommend to a friend for sure, but not for the service. Good location, good drink selection for a bar.
I've only ever been in here in the afternoon for a beer. 61 local does have a great beer list, reasonable prices, and it's nice that they offer a larger or smaller pour on most of the drafts. The ambience and crowd just sometimes feels a little weird to me. It's almost like the place doesn't know what it is: a bar, a coffee shop, a restaurant? Definitely a good place to stop in, just not quite my vibe.
Love the high ceilings and the lively atmosphere. However, each time I've been here it's always super warm inside. It can also be difficult to grab a bartender's attention when the bar starts to fill up, so get your drink early!
