UNSAFE, RAT-INFESTED, POORLY MAINTAINED PROPERTY – RENTER BEWARE I moved out of 644 City Station in May 2023 after living there almost two years. The property is run-down and poorly maintained. My apartment was infested repeatedly with cockroaches and rats, while multiple complaints to management went unaddressed. My locked bike was stolen in broad daylight out of the garage when the garage door and back gate were broken and left open for months. The hallways reek of weed and the trash chutes overflow and clog with garbage every weekend. Expect to be charged for a full apartment cleaning, carpet cleaning, and a paint job when you move out regardless of the condition you leave it in, how long you lived there, or what you were promised about minimal wear and tear when you moved in. Multiple outreach attempts to Greystar corporate go unanswered.
Literally the best apartment complex I've ever lived in. From the first day that I moved in to now, I've received nothing but the best customer service. Maintenance requests are fulfilled within an hour of me submitting a request which is unheard of for an apartment complex. Nato and Cami in the leasing office are always so nice and genuinely care about your concerns. After moving from the south 4 months ago, I can't imagine myself living anywhere else downtown.
I've lived in a lot of apartments over the years. I've also dealt with a lot of property managers. The property manager at 644 is wonderful. Always pleasant to talk to, willing to listen and a genuinely nice human. The property is well maintained and secure. West of downtown Salt Lake so you don't have to deal with the traffic and close enough for the night. Maintainence is super quick to respond to your problems. If they can't fix it right then and there, they will let you know. The only con I can think of is the high cost for covered parking. Other than that, I've not had a problem.
Moving in was so easy! I love my apartment and the staff are very friendly!
Great place to live and love the management and maintenance! They go above and beyond for us residents! Hosts monthly events that are amazing!
I have never had a more responsive, positive experience at an apartment complex than Kelsie and her team have provided. From the time we walked through the door all the way until now, they've made sure we are completely comfortable and taken care of, and they took the time to explain every single detail of the lease for us with incredible patience. I've had some sour experiences with apartment communities before, but whatever they are doing with management here, they are doing it right. I never have noise issues with neighbors- I can't even hear them 95% of the time at all- our parking spot is always secure underground garage, and any maintenance requests have always been addressed promptly. I love the pet-friendly policy, and it's nice to know that if we get a pet in the future, we won't have to find a new place to live. All in all, I'm so happy we moved here.
This has been a crazy year for all of us, so I'm going to focus on the positive and not the negative. This is a lovely apartment building with good-sized flats, friendly staff, and an efficient and effective maintenance team. I've been quite pleased to stay and I'm renewing my lease as I type this. The building has a very convenient location, with immediate access to central Salt Lake City via bus or light rail, and hourly trains north and south. The grounds are well-maintained and the building is built so well that even with the windows open you can't hear the freeway. So, why not five stars? Well. There are, or were, some negatives that are not the fault of the building's management or staff. First: Despite the best efforts of gentrification and the city alike, the area immediately west of the building can be very seedy, with the occasional appearance of large homeless encampments. While the homeless themselves are very rarely dangerous or aggressive, a number of criminals appear to use the encampments as cover and violent crime is sadly not unknown. Having said that, I want to stress that to the best of my knowledge nothing has happened in or around the building. Second: Fees can feel a bit high. Ask about them when moving in. Third: Guest parking can leave a lot to be desired, and with the new construction behind our building it's only going to get worse. There are options in the neighborhood that aren't particularly inconvenient, but they tend to cost money and are at least a five minute walk. Still, all in all I've been happy, and I think you will be too.
I am really grateful for the attentiveness in these apartments. The staff always get back to me in a timely manner and listen to me when I talk. I appreciate the new management for sure. They have resolved any problems we had prior and communicate very well. The only issues we’ve run into are that the walls are thin so we can hear a lot of noises from the neighbors and cars outside if they’re noisy ones. Other than that, it’s amazing to live here. I really enjoy how secure the property is. A key fob is needed to get into the gates, the doors, the garage, elevators, etc. I picked these apartments for the security due to needing an emergency relocation and the new management has been great at fixing any security issues in a swift manner. They also make sure there are signs posted about wearing masks. I feel safe living here. Overall, I would recommend these apartments.
If you are looking for a place that will get you your deposit back within 30 days, per Utah law, this is not your place. I have spoken to management multiple times and they refuse to give me back my deposit. I keep getting the run-around from them and I moved out end of January. I received an itemized list of final charges and I am owed my deposit per this list that management sent. In other words, I left the place spotless and without damages and management agreed so they were supposed to give me my deposit back. I knew this would be the case because the place was spotless before I left and management concurred. I have had to call and basically beg for my deposit back but still no luck. It’s been about 7 weeks now and these people are awful. I was supposed to get updates last month, this week and today. In all of these instances, I received no call backs. I had to call multiple times per day and when I would finally connect with someone, I would get the same response. Today I spoke to the regional manager and she was supposed to send me her email and phone number so that I can personally reach out and she hasn’t. TO ALL PROSPECTIVE RENTERS: FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO RENT. The walls are super thin and management is terrible. That’s enough reason to look elsewhere. Fingers crossed I get my money back because if the roles were reversed, they would have probably sent me to collections by now.
I've recently moved here, and honestly, I love it. We came in through when a different manager was in charge, so I have almost no experiences with them, but the current manager, Karley, has been absolutely fantastic. We've been trying to settle in and she's been nothing but a gem. While everything isn't entirely in her control, she's done her best to make sure we're taken care of. The building itself is pretty cute, simple geometric design to it. Our apartment is spacious, well lit and has given us few problems. With the small issues we had when first coming into the apartment, those were taken care of by the amazing man that is maintenance. I think it's also a nice location, it has easy access to downtown, the I-15 and a trax station, can't go wrong with that, whatever your mode of transportation may be. Saying that, I hope to call this place home for a nice long while. Cheers.
