BEWARNED: This is the worst property management, do not be scammed by them and save yourself the agony of dealing with an incompetent and neglectful management team. If I could give a 0 star I would but more importantly, read my story below. Maintenance barges into your property without notice of what day they are coming in to fix things, I ask them to let me know in the future, and the property management keeps just sending the maintenance into the unit without permission. I told them not to do that and it keeps happening. Is this even legal? The entire building wreaks of awful stale old smell. Elevator constantly breaks down. On a couple occasions I saw homeless people let into the building on the ground floor lobby and using our laundry rooms. I have nothing against homeless people, trust me, but if homeless people are given permission to enter and use our building, were the residents even notified of this? I definitely don’t see this anywhere on my lease. If they are not permitted, why aren’t they doing a better job of monitoring who enters the building or not? Seems very dangerous to be lacking security. Not to mention, all of the packages that have gone missing in the disaster of a mailroom that they have. The mailroom is just one big room with stacks of boxes and packages thrown on top of one another, as they come in. ALL residents I have spoken with also complained about this mess, and many had mentioned their packages getting stolen as well. The management says they are understaffed and has done NOTHING about it. Is that a good excuse for all the crimes happening on site? Mainly, I moved here last year and as soon as I moved in, I heard noises through the wall in my bedroom/bathroom and the ventilations. There was a man grunting/screaming every minute, and it seemed to get worse overnight. As weeks went on, I thought it may stop. It didn’t. It only got worse. Next thing I know, in the fall, I’d come home from work and this man would be screaming/grunting LITERALLY every 5-10 seconds, every minute, without a stop, for at least 7-10 hours a day, particularly between 5pm-midnight. A time when people come home from work and are trying to REST or get more work done quietly at home. I inquired with the management and they said that they cannot come in to inspect since the noise happens after office hours. They told me to call the night security or police. Neither could do anything about it and told me the management needs to deal with it. I try to find another place in the middle of the year, I lost $5000 over a scammer ad on Zillow for an apartment listing. I told the property management MULTIPLE times by phone call, in person, and by email that I will be moving out as soon as I can find a place. They said “that’s fine”. In March this year, I officially wrote them another email to confirm and to inquire about other units since it’s easier to move into another unit in the building than to another property not to mention extra broker fee I have to pay for this voluntary move-out. Four months sounds like more than 60 day notice to me. And then, today I get an email saying they are going to charge me $1495 of ‘insufficient notice fee’ because I did not let them know in advance. They will try to rip you off in EVERY way possible while not doing ANYTHING on their end to make it a livable situation in your own apartment you are paying $$$ for, not doing anything about the stolen packages or homeless people in the hallways, not doing anything about noise issues. DO NOT live here. When you come to visit the property, you will think it is nice and not a bad deal. When you live here, it is a WHOLE different experience. They keep jacking up the rent price each year anyway, I suggest you look somewhere else. I’ll be calling up my lawyer friend for all these illegal charges they are putting on me when I am just trying to leave the place at the end of my lease.
I have been living here for past 3 years and my overall experience has been good so far. The renovation project has been a success. The new look and amenities are good. The community is conveniently located near public transit as well as highway access and in a safe neighborhood. I would highly recommend this community to anyone considering shifting to Cambridge.
Under great management now. Lots of improvements to the buildings and grounds. Friendly and diverse set of neighbors.
Thank you Ana Berrio and the managements for Eid Celebration, activities for kids & the delicious foods.
Booked a tour and the apartment was not avaliable to see! Just went out of my work to lose time with that!
I deal with this Management office regularly for the past 15 years, I never have had any issue to report other than this place is getting better than before. nothing goes without fully addressed, as a matter of fact, they became quicker to respond to my concern, with undivided attention to my details, without deliberate delay or create excuses. and all that became culture of this place since The RiverMark Team took over.
When I moved in, early fall, I wasn't aware that I would be listening to drilling, hammering and saw noises by construction crews, 6 days a week. The elevator has been unserviceable for over 2 months, leaving all the residents from the 200 apartments to use 1 elevator, to include moving crews and construction crews. This leaves the elderly, handicapped and mothers with kids to walk up flights of stairs or be stuck in the crowded ground floor lobby. The elevator's last inspection expired in February of 2021. It feels unsafe every time you get in it, along with the comforting noises that it makes, making you wonder if you'll get stuck or even worse. What’s sad is, it’s normal to wait for an elevator for atleast 5 min, often times longer! Over a month ago, the key fob to the front door was unserviceable for 2 or 3 weeks, during that time, a burglar walked in twice, and stole packages prior to Christmas. I’m sure there were some kids without present due to the unsatisfactory security that was provieee at that time. Only after that happened, did they place a security guard at the front door until 5am.
Worst staff I have ever dealt with. We made an appointment to view some apartments with the leasing specialist Elizabeth. We took off work early to view the apartments. We showed up and the front desk person said that Elizabeth didn't come in for work today and she was the ONLY person that had keys to the building. Not sure how that is even possible as this is a huge complex. We emailed Elizabeth and she did not even apologize for being a no show/no call. She just asked to reschedule. We asked if we could do this later 5:30PM so we did not have to leave work early and she never responded. Not sure how they rent any apartments with that kind of staff.
Perfectly same experience with Kendra. Elizabeth and the leasing office was the worst ever. I called the office before visiting, and the staff said Elizabeth would call back; but not. When I came to the apartment for the tour, she did not show up without any notice. She just ignored our follow-up mail. She is a fraudster enjoying putting people through trouble with the fake. Very kind and quick response at the first email and disappear next.
Disorganized and rude staff at leasing office. We haven't seen such a disorganized leasing office in years. We have been trying to contact the leasing office for the past 5 days.. Even after leaving voicemail after voicemail, no one called us back. Their website said open today but no one in leasing was at work and the answering service had no clue about this. After 4th try, one of the staff asked us to stop-by in person. Next morning, we were in the office 8:30am and it was closed. We waited until they opened and were told the leasing agent would come in at 9am. She never showed up.. The staff showed no responsibility and no respect to future tenants. We got frustrated and left. I don't understand how a prospective tenant could connect with this property. We were attracted by the location but their service made us never to think of this option again.
