I hired Mr. Rooter since they were able to  get here immediately.  Don't make this mistake.  Mr. Rooter charged $210.00 and did not clear the line.  They flooded my laundry room though and made quite a mess.  Later that day I called A General Plumbing & Sewer and explained my situation.  They sent Carl the next morning.  Carl is quite a character and will entertain you while he works.  Carl put drop cloths down around the clean out in my laundry room area and used a much heavier duty snake than Mr. Rooter.  Carl was here for less time and cleared the line in no time flat.  His snake came in multiple sections and was operated by a large drill which cleaned the pipe for its entire length.  Carl sent more than 110 feet of snake down the sewer line.  We have lived in this house for nearly 30 years and the drains have never run like this before.  Carl is the man!

Had a complicated blockage in my main line. Carl was unbelievably great. He methodically figured out where the blockage was and proceeded to use the right size snake to fix the problem. Another plumber who came the day before could not solve the problem. If Carl shows up at your job, you can rest assure the job will get done properly.  He was careful not to damage or soil my property. I hope I never need the service again, but I wouldn't hesitate a moment to have Carl do any work in my home again.

Scheduled an appointment for "this afternoon". They didn't show up. Nor did they bother to call me to give me any reason for this. Try someone else.

At first, my experience with A-General was okay. I had a $500 maximum allowance, and if there were more repairs, to call me for approval (which they did not). Fixed ONE plumbing line and was charged over $500. I do not live in NJ, so I needed photos, not ONE photo of the work that was done. Very unprofessional. Lots of attitude from the snarky females that answer phones. Unwilling to go back down the street to take more than one photo. I was not even aware of the additional work that needed to be done because no one returns any calls or communicates. Just because you typically don't do something, does not mean there are certain scenarios that come up and you have to use your brain and common sense and think outside the "box", and apparently, they do not know how to handle things. Wasted my time and money.

Amazing company.  Highly recommend to anyone who needs plumbing services.  Everyone I dealt with was compassionate and extremely helpful.  Diana and Andrea are both wonderful to work with.  Mike and Jim were very knowledgeable and helpful throughout my entire process.
