Yes, yes, yes! Always fast service. The food is so reasonably priced too. Love this place during off peak hours to enjoy the food, to enjoy the staff and get a little work done. During peak hours, this place is busy in the tradition of what diners where created to be: family oriented. *They serve spaghetti the right way with a spoon & fork and they make harmony grits on a regular basis....
My fiance and I love love love this place. Best diner in town, great service, really fast. Nice waitresses, they're always polite and friendly. And the is food out of this world! Always perfectly delicious and purely mouth watering!
Rude waitress, and cook! Ordered eggs over easy. Came with runny whites. Sent back. Next time same thing. They said that's how they're done!
Basic diner, fast service, affordable pricing, and staff that know the locals from the newbies. Eating in is cash only. Waffles and french toast are better than the pancakes. Very easy to get a booth. They have high chairs and clean bathrooms and ADA friendly tables.
A good mom & pop type diner. My favorite are their breakfast meals and my husband enjoys their goulash. Only negative is they don't take credit cards but they have a handy ATM machine as you enter.
Best breakfast place - but not only! It's a small diner, but as quick as a fast food. Pancakes and omelettes are served in less than 5 mins from the moment you ordered them! They have delicious specials for lunch, such as Lamb Shanks, Beef Goulash and many others. The good food, laid back atmosphere and attentive waitresses just make you feel at home. Prices are cheap and everything in the menu I tried was beyond reproach. Long time regular here.
I often go there for lunch.Great for what it is-- an unassuming coffee shop/luncheonette. Food tends to be a bit heavy a bond salty, but satisfies. Best items are those with some Greek influence, also chocken cacciatore. Great short rubs if you want a heavy meal for lunch and are willing to pay $17 for it. Prices were very reasonable but have gone up recently.
Ordered the veggie burger with curly fries on Seamless. If you want fast and accurate delivery, order from here. If you want food that tastes good, order at your own risk. The veggie patty itself was pretty decent, but it came plain with bread which also was pretty decent. But they could've added some dressing. Or Tomatoes. Or maybe lettuce. There was nothing to "complete" the burger. Anyway. Curly fries a little sloppy.
So sad to see this place close. One of the last few holdouts from pre-gentrified fort greene. A neighborhood gem, and well loved. Ive been ordering from here and coming here most of my life. They had the best steak fries! Will be sorely missed. Wishing the family the best on their next moves / chapter.
it is a fantastic diner with good prices and lovely dishes. excellent breakfast. if you know what the coney island franchise of diners is like, Academy is like the platonic ideal of those: nyc greek-owned diner with many options and dependable service. highly recommended.
