This family owned company does a great job. Don’t be fooled by the clown companies that talk about eco cleaning. It’s more like incomplete cleaning. Adelman’s cleaning is incredible!!! I cannot believe how well the cleaning was. I was worried that the carpet was too far gone, but it looks sexy!!!
I specifically chose Adelman due to their website stating their techs underwent specific and ongoing training in working with various types of upholstery fabric, including cottons. Per their website a cotton upholstery fabric should be dry clean only. I inquired about service and stated the fabric of the sofa I was hoping to have cleaned was a cotton chintz; I thought I had found a good fit for a cleaning company given the above info and their ability to get my cleaning scheduled within the week. When the tech arrived, though friendly and on time, he surprisingly said he didn’t have very much experience with cleaning cotton chintz and would be using hot water extraction but would test a spot first and didn’t anticipate any issues. I explained that the upholstery was a specialty cotton, read him the fabric’s specs from the trade website, and asked that he please stop at any point in the service if it didn’t appear the fabric was handling the cleaning well. I had to go back to work after it took over a half hour to get the hoses up and the service started- so I wanted him to know it was ok to stop in my absence if things took a turn. Long story short, I came home a few hours later to cushions that now had color bleeding around the dark blue and pink floral print on multiple cushions and along the green cording. I requested to file a claim immediately and sent photos of the color bleeding on the cushions as well as the photos I’d taken just before scheduling the service while collecting quotes from various companies that show their “pre-cleaning” condition. They reviewed the photos and said they would arrange to pick the cushions up to bring to the company warehouse to attempt to remedy. After the pick up I heard nothing for over a week, leaving me to reach out again for a status update. The cushions were then dropped off, color bleeding still present. I spoke on the phone with the company to discuss next steps for proceeding with my claim after they said they had done everything they could at the warehouse; I asked for a refund for the cost of service and was told they would move forward with my request and get back to me. I again went weeks waiting for follow-up. I have not received any compensation and my couch cushions remain damaged. I would not recommend this company for anything other than heavy duty microfiber couches and very basic carpet cleaning with my experience in mind. Photo below of an example of the color bleeding that is now present across multiple cushions. Update: Odd to receive a response only upon writing a review to google, despite having had multiple phone conversations and emails where I tried to handle my claim in a private manner. They were anything but prompt and direct. I was continually told it was being worked on/they would follow up, but per their reply to my review, it seems they have no intention of that and are trying to shift the blame off of themselves- the company was given AMPLE evidence of the damage incurred during the cleaning; the purple color bleeding occurred not only on the bottom cushions but also on the top of the back cushions- and green color bleeding along the cording, they also have their techs notes on the couch’s condition prior to the cleaning which make zero mention of any “wine/juice staining” present at the start. The areas with the worst color bleeding are areas that used more water there was slight tan discoloration from a pets sit spots which I believe had extra time spent on them- photos posted. The photos given during my claim process are all posted here; I’m not hiding some obvious wine stain “not pictured” as implied. The color bleeding referred to purple in hue- from the blue floral with red center is TRACKED along the print in multiple areas. There is also green dye-bleeding along the cording, which the company still hasn't acknowledged. Their choice in treating a customer in this way instead of acknowledging their mishandling of a situation and retraining their tech is all I need to know. Best of luck to them.
I've used Adelman many times in the past and been happy with the service. I had them come out in September and clean my carpets as usual. Three days after the carpet cleaning, I noticed a spot on carpet they cleaned that smelled mildewy. I spent the next month researching and trying every remedy vinegar, baking soda, oxy clean, etc that I could find recommendations for to get rid of the smell. According to my research, this is a common issue if the water is not fully removed during the cleaning process. Finally, I called Adelman. The person who answered was rude and condescending and refused to acknowledge that this might have been caused by the water not being fully removed from the area affected. I got the same run-around that a previous reviewer did about some hidden stain being "activated". I know the difference between pet and mold smells. I requested that they come and reclean the area. They said they would be charging me again. I asked to speak to someone else and was told the "office manager" would call me back. That was two weeks ago and I have not received a call. Adleman says they stand behind their work, but clearly they do not. I will now have to pay another company to fix their mistake or else replace the carpet and pad that was ruined by their negligence. If you hire them and things go well, you will be pleased as I was in the past. But if there is an issue, good luck getting it resolved. Edited to add in response to business: Your customer service is seriously lacking. Calling me disingenuous for posting a sincere and honest review is in poor taste. You do not stand behind your work. Everything stated in my review was honest and accurate. I called ONE month later, as acknowledged in my review, because I tried to solve the issue on my own. Then I waited weeks for a promised call back that didn’t come. I was formerly a loyal customer, as you acknowledged in your response. You could have worked with me to fix the problem. Instead your office has been rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend this company.

I was very pleased with the service that Joe and Ben performed. There were at least 20 pieces of various pieces of furniture and others. These two men worked non-stop for 3-4 hours. They never asked for water, I made them take the 2 waters that I gave them. They deserved them. My client and I are very very pleased . I used them some years ago and the service is still the same. Exceptional!! These two employees of Adelman really deserve 10 .

After running around to different cleaners, checking prices to get my area rug cleaned. I was down 84th Street and looked over and saw Adelman Carpet cleaning. I hit a u-turn and checked with them, and thank God I did they saved me half of the other places were charging
