Advanced Dermatology

Today I received a call from a kind staff member from Advanced Dermatology. She called to alert me that my biopsy was positive for skin cancer from two years ago. Yes, 2 years ago. Thankfully, I had the sense to follow up with a different doctor/clinic when I didn’t hear from them with the results that week. I was proactive and received treatment. Please think twice before trusting any of your health care from Advanced Dermatology.

Very kind and attentive to your needs. The staff greet you with great smiles and also call to check on you and confirm appointments. I am very comfortable and feel confident with their service. I Highly recommend and know you will feel satisfied if you visit them at 24 Prospect park & Montgomery street in Brooklyn.

After going here regularly for more than a year and having all my previous visits covered, I received a surprise $378 medical bill because they had an out-of-network doctor treat me without my knowledge. Will not be coming back until this is remedied. Do not risk being treated by this clinic, even if you believe you are insured. EDIT: I've followed up with both the clinic and my insurer and it seems the clinic did believe the provider was in-network for my insurance on the day of my appointment, but the provider was dropped suddenly without notice to the clinic. The clinic is attempting to resolve the issue as I had no way of knowing the provider was suddenly dropped, and neither did they. If this is successfully resolved I will be happy to change my review. EDIT: This is still unresolved as of 8/31. What actually happened was the Physician's Assistant not in-network was mistakenly named on the bill submitted to my insurance instead of the Supervising Physician in-network. The bill needs to be resubmitted to my insurance but this has taken a few weeks and still not occurred.

Updated: Work in progress but Fan is great. PA Bin Bin Fan is read-up, effective and considerate. Updated to four stars from two because the office is under new management but was historically a horror story.

Knowledgeable, kind, and simply lovely experience at a doctor’s office. Minimal wait, thorough care and explanation regarding my procedure. Thank you.

Doctor was fine, but staff are incompetent and rude. They told me to "pick three" things to talk about, because apparently I had wrote too much in the intake form. The doctor ended up discussing everything I wanted to thankfully. Didn't mail or email a bill, and they don't integrate with my health insurance's bill pay, so after 6 months of silence they sent my bill to a debt collector.

I arrived 15 minutes early, and they had me in a room right away which was a nice surprise. But it's so sad to see this practice – that I've been with since the 90's with Dr Tesser– steadily go downhill every year since his departure. There are always new providers and staff which to me, signals instability. The doctor was fine, she was thorough and respectful, nothing special, but the support staff was very much lacking in knowledge, attitude, and attention. If it wasn't so darn close!

PA Bin bin fan is amazing. I came in worried about something on my face and he took his time to explain everything to me and my options to deal with it. He did not push me towards anything in particular, only provide with the information to decide for myself. In other offices I have been to, the docs usually push me to do procedures so they can earn money. Never got the sense here. I came back another time for the treatment and it was was quick and painless. Everything is healed well and I cannot be grateful enough. This office is close to where I work so I will definitely be coming here for any future skin stuff. Highly recommend. Will have to say that the office itself is nothing to write home about probably looks a bit shabby but the staff is efficient and friendly and down to earth and bin bin was great!

I scheduled a follow up appointment months in advance. Received standard text confirmations. Showed up 15 minutes early for the appointment. Neither the receptionist nor the provider had arrived yet. Approximately 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time myself and the 3 other people waiting for their appointments were told that there was no provider scheduled to be at the site that day and that we would have to reschedule our appointments. My provider was always wonderful—friendly, courteous, and professional in all my prior interactions. But for their administrative systems to “break down” the way it did, to strand clients, to waste other people’s time was really inexcusable. I like my provider and will continue to see them in the future. But I will always call first to make sure they are there. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Not recommended. Support staff is rude and short tempered. They yell your name loudly from the back of the office when they are ready vs. greeting you at the door, they yelled at the new receptionist in front of the patients. Working with them to set a follow up appointment was confusing and difficult. They recently made an error in a mole cancer surgery appointment which caused me to reschedule. Avoid at all costs. They should not be in business.
