I know working in retail can be very challenging. Trust me I know from my own experience after 14 years. Came to this shop and dropped off a board for repair filled out a form with all my information. I was told I would be contacted by Monday. No call or follow up. Sure I know things can get crazy at the store at times. So I decided to follow up. I called Thursday, Friday and Saturday I was told I was going to get a call back mind you it’s over a week already and no information about the repair of the board. Have a great communication with customer is key to success in any business. Now their staff is very knowledgeable about their product, friendly and professional. But when you requested to speak to a manager his response manager after communicating my frustration. Dude I just need to know when is the board going to be ready? His response.. The tech will contact you. No excuse or acknowledgement regarding me calling 3 days back to back following up.
This shop caught my eye. It seemed very cute and warm. I went inside with the intention of buying a few clothing items. The owner or retail working stood in front of the shop and blocked the entrance. It was an awkward interaction. After several seconds, he then allowed me to go inside mind you it was raining and windy outside. I saw a jacket that was on sale. It seemed waterproof or water resistant given the rainy weather. I asked the worker if it was waterproof, and he said no with an attitude and didn’t seemed interested that I was there to shop. A simple hello or welcome would have changed the awkward and unwelcoming atmosphere. The experience could’ve been better.
I had a awesome experience shopping at Aegir Boardworks. I’m a beginner skater and got some great recommendations for my skateboard. The store was clean and I was content with the customer service. There’s a positive vibe in this store. I highly recommend!
My partner and I bought two skateboards at Aegir today. The two people who helped us were super friendly and helpful and answered all of our questions with sincerity. They were also really kind to our daughter. They built our boards right away and did a great job. And the price for the boards and labor seemed fair.
My experience at this surf-skate shop in Dumbo Brooklyn NY thus far is % positive. The store could not be placed in a cooler-hipper place than in Dumbo NYC. It is nice to go in and browse through the skateboards, surfboards, snowboarders & other apparel. The staff that I communicated with Craig & Chris were really nice laid back guys that were helpful with questions & enjoyable to chat and reminisce about past boarding experiences. I originally came to the store looking for a good carver board to build into an electric-board. The guys were very helpful, & even offered to help put the components together. So I will be back to this surf-skate shop. Plus+ they get the bonus fifth star for offering skateboard classes for kids. The only improvement i would recommend is adding an espresso coffee bar and keep the boarding classes for kids inexpensive.
Love it! Excellent service and very friendly staff. The location and the store are super nice and warm. Definitely the best place to get a board
Had a great experience shopping for a helmet, super helpful and friendly employees. Love the nutcracker out front as well
Great shop with almost everything you need as a surfer and skater, they have loads of board bags, wax, fins leashes softops you name it! I have repaired and sold surfboards with the guys and they are very transperant and help full. Also right in my Neighbour hood
If you love and care for your surfboard DO NOT take to Aegir to a dude name Craig. Save yourself from a long story, Craig fixed my board charged 3 times the price and there was 2 soft spots on the repair from over sanding it. Brought the problem to his attention, was treated with disrespect and was threatened because I refuse to let him repair again. . Just could not convince myself that a person who is supposed to be good at repair could have done such of a poor job. Hell no he was never going to touch my board again. Paid the amount, left with a board in bad shape and finally took to another person. New repair shop found that Craig's repair was not only over sanded, a layer on the rail was deteriorating. Finally got it repair NOT by Craig at Aegir, and I am now in the water surfing life away. Yes, I gave this guy Craig a bunch of money for a ripoff repair but hey look at the bright side you won't make the same mistake I made and that makes me happy. Happy surfing.
Very knowledgeable staff. I bought my son a new board and had an hour or more of questions that they were happy to answer. They got him the right size and made some customizations to help him with where he's at on the learning curve.
