Affordable Art Fair NYC

This is a fabulous international art show that comes to NYC twice every year and it’s great! You can find great pieces for low prices for your home or just take a look at the up and coming artist from all over the world showcased by local and international galleries.

Strange experience. Wide array of quality, but I found about 10 galleries that were representing good work. The rest were mediocre and more than a few looked like they had wandered in off 42nd street, John Lennon poster art in tow. The quality pieces were stunning, but still out of my price range at 5-8k. There were about 5 works I loved that fell in the 1k-2.5k range, but they were devalued by the aforementioned poster art that was coming in at the same price point. Hardly anything under 1k worth purchasing. Overall a fun experience but I will search for art in other places. Also: super weird music. Think flyover state classic rock radio. Real buzzkill.

The fair is great but hate to pay for a ticket to enter in a shop. Even if it's a large one. They should at least refund the entrance ticket if you buy something.
