I would love to leave a 12 star review if possible. It was my wife's birthday and I wanted to do something special for her. The staff were extremely helpful in accommodating my request which made this my wife's best birthday ever. Room was clean, the views were beautiful and the location was close to everything. Anytime I come to Philly I am staying here. Forget about 4 seasons or whatever else is out there and stay with AKA.
Great location with amazing views of Philadelphia. The business center was quiet and well designed and the coffee machine was a definite perk. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous though not heated, which was a little bit of a disappointment but did not put a damper on the experience at all. plenty of areas to lounge around in or for an event. The rooftop garden is a must see.
WORST LEASING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! DO NOT SIGN LEASE WITH THEM!!!! 1. They will not give your deposit back! They always took an unreasonable amount of money $800-$1000 after your lease ends saying that they needed extra cleaning. It happened to me and several other tenants. Even tho we provided them photo proofs clearly showing our apts were thoroughly cleaned. They won’t listen and always have excuses!!!! 2. A horrible experience with their management team left me SEVERE mental issues. I lived with my dog who’s an emotional support animal but they forced me to remove my dog from their building and never come in ever because of an accident. I was trying to negotiate with them and move out with my dog but they said they’ll charge me triple of my monthly rent for breaking the lease. So I had to send my dog to someone else until my lease ends and that made me SUFFER SEVERELY. No one here cares about you they only think about how to charge you more money :
Stay elsewhere. We stayed here while my daughter had a surgical procedure at CHOP. We booked this hotel simply because it had an indoor pool and that would help the kids keep their minds off the impending surgery. Only to find the pool was closed for cleaning that week. I really wish someone would have disclosed that prior to us booking this hotel. When we asked the front desk about it this simply didn’t offer an apology. Also, I had requested a few blankets to our room a week before check in knowing I would want to get the kids settled into bed to have a good nights rest before the surgery. Checked into our room and found it very odd that not only was our request not given but there were absolutely no towels, no hand rags, and soap. The couch looked like someone had just jumped on it, a dark drink had been freshly spilled on the carpet, the tub had bar soap stuck to the bottom of it, and crumbs littered the room. I immediately told the front desk who didn’t bat an eye and just said “ok. We don’t have another room.” Not to mention the sink disposable wasn’t working causing the sink to fill with water so we had to wash our dishes in the bathroom sink. So I cleaned the room myself, scrubbed the tub, and on my hands and knees Cloroxed everything from the kitchen to the floor. I requested the towels and blankets, which showed up to our door 4 hours later, around 830pm. All the while my kids sat on the couch waiting for me to be done, tired from our flight to Philadelphia, and crabby, wanting to go to bed. The next day I received a text asking how our stay was going and I responded with our issues. Within two hours, a manager came to our door and told us the front desk had made a mistake and put us into a used dirty room. He apologized and offered us a new room and a discount stay. I said we would be okay staying in the room because I had already cleaned it but if he would consider letting us leave a day early after our daughters surgery and not be charged for the last day we had booked. He said not a problem at all and that we had already dealt with enough. I thought “Wow, how nice to address this within two hours of my text.” Not so fast….. this is where it got weird. I went to the front desk after our daughters surgery to speak to them about leaving early and about all our problems and they claimed they had no idea I spoke with anyone and acted as if someone impersonated a manager. Very strange and upsetting. Front desk said we would be getting a call from the manager because they can’t offer any type of discount at that time. It’s now been 24 hours after check out and not one call has been received. For our other upcoming medical appointments we will be looking else where to stay. Huge disappointment!
A beautiful place to stay, whether for business or vacation. Apartments equipped with every comfort and convenience, and if you are still not happy, then ask Carla, the manager, who will be able to satisfy you and satisfy you in all your requests. Highly recommendedRooms: 5/5
New construction, convenient, 5 star amenities, cleaner than most hotels even 100 times better than W Philadelphia!! Found Perfect spot to stay whenever in east coast. Only drawbacks- 1. parking next door in another building, no valet service. 2. No room service or any assistance if you need your food delivery order in the room. Every time you would need to go to lobby to get your items!
Great location and great view. We unfortunately didn’t get a room with a downtown view which i wish i could since it was my first time in Philadelphia, but surprisingly the gym had an amazing view of the city!
I've stayed at this location 5 additional times since I posted the original review. The amenities remain top notch and the service goes above and beyond our expectations and exceeds that of the Four Seasons in Philly.Rooms: 5/5
I understand the idea of a two night minimum, but, not even accept reservations if there are rooms available makes no sense. The reservations agent at corporate was quite terse when explaining it to me.
My wife and I have stayed at an AKA 5 or 6 times, the last 3 being at this location at University City in Philly. We’ve obviously enjoyed our stays because we keep coming back. This review is specifically about the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Kudos to local management. This high quality staff doesn’t just happen. It’s hiring the best people and training them to make their guests feel welcome. 5 stars for staff on 28, at desk and management!
