Resource Coordination
Local Support for people with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) provided by professional coordinators trained in identifying and accessing community resources.
Resource Coordination also provides assistance coping with the issues of living with a Traumatic Brain Injury or Spinal Cord Injury, and helps transition back into family life, school and community.
Respite Care
Qualified care in the home for persons with TBI/SCI to allow full-time family caregivers a break.
Housing Assistance
The development of Accessible/Affordable Apartment Complexes stimulated by AHIF in Florence, Hoover and Mobile.
Information and Referral
A statewide network of resource information on TBI and SCI including a multi-media library.
Camp Program
Camp for people with brain injury at beautiful Camp ASCCA on Lake Martin.
Recreation Program
Small Places is a model social/recreational program for people with TBI with programs in Anniston, Birmingham, Cullman/Hanceville, Florence, Gadsden, Huntsville, Jasper, and Tuscaloosa.
Advocacy
AHIF promotes public policy to prevent injury and increase services to Alabamians with TBI.
