Alack Culinary Equipment & Supplies (Corporate)

I had a very bad experience with this company. I dealt with one of their employees. I purchased some equipment and he was trying to sell one of my equipment and he sold it on an agreement that he would get a certain percentage as a commission. In the end he sold it and did not send me my part of the money. I went several times to speak with his manager and called a few times in regards to this matter and they do not seem to care about their customers or the business. It seems to me this company is managed by crooks.

I gave the sales guy specifications of a quote and he still could not get it right. I had to have him change the quote to the right dimensions 3 times. When it came time to deliver the equipment their delivery drivers stated they could not get the refrigerators through the door. They also stated that it was the sales guys JOB to come and take measurements for customers in which they did not. They delivery people could have worked to get them through but kept insisting that they couldn't. The sales guy still charged me a $400 delivery fee + the freight even though they did not deliver the refrigerators. We were going to reorder single door refrigerators from them but he would not waive the new delivery charge. Basically said it was all our fault that the equipment could not fit when actually they are supposed to come and measure. The customer service was horrible and they did nothing to try and keep our business. I've called to try to speak with somebody in corporate to no avail of course. I will never do business with these guys again and would warn you before you do so that customers service has a lot to be desired from this place. Order your equipment from elsewhere before considering doing business with Alack. I should have read these reviews before doing business with them.

Good products, good pricing. Lots of stock! Staff is okay, not too friendly.

Thought this was a nice place until I dealt with associates that don't greet or acknowledge you even while you are one of only three people in the store. A blonde woman and heavy set man were having a conversation and while looking for an item standing by them I had to break their conversation after waiting for a minute to be noticed. This is a restaurant supply store, I'm surprised they don't care for their customers' time as much as the restaurateurs who shop here care for their own level of service. Nice looking store, would like to give them another chance. Maybe management reads this and uses the opportunity for coaching.

This was honestly the worst refridgeration company I have dealt with. A friend asked that I use them for a job out in Houma, LA. They did the most horrible job a refridgeration company could do...starting from the installation to the service. Luckily, I have found a local company named Blanchard's Refridgeration that is cleaning up Alack's mess. Oh, and Alack is not honoring my warranty even after the faulty installation.
