The hotel is beautiful inside and clean on the outside. I love how secure it feels. Although it is in a tight area, you can't tell it. Nice bar inside with a great atmosphere. The room was clean, organized and comfortable. It was windy out but the heat was low in the room it was perfect. The bed was comfortable and soft. The shower is spacious and relaxing. Great hotel!
First and foremost, I must say that the staff is absolutely kind and excellent. The front desk and bar staff ensured we were met with kindness! However, the room did not meet expectations. Things were dirty, cracked, unfinished. The room is also incredibly dim. Furthermore, there was banging going on that drove me insane! I do appreciate that there was parking on the premises.
I would never stay here again ! The showers had black mould all around the edges the grout was coming off the drain, the bathroom floor also had the dirtiest grout I have ever seen black on white. The room was decent. The hotel itself and the lobby also looked very weathered the furnitures was faded and the reception desk looked like a truck ran into it. Staff is super nice but the hotel is in need of major renovations. I wish I had taken pictures :
Rooms are horrible. Hotel is major need of renovation for their guest rooms. Mini fridge is under the bathroom sink which is crazy! Phone and outlets was full of dust and hair. Room haven’t been dust or wiped down in years. Desk chair has potato chip crumbs on it. Room looks like it haven’t seen a vacuum in months. It seems as though housekeepers just Change the beds and place new towels in the room and that’s all folks! Such a disappointment to say it’s a Marriott property. Staff was super nice!
This is a beautiful and trendy hotel that unfortunately can't match its function to its form. There was no hot water. I left the shower/faucet on for over 10 minutes trying. Parking is $32 a night even though there's free parking a short distance away AND the lift gate for parking only works when it feels like it. Room keys constantly need to be recoded. Finally, the "free" breakfast is NOT free. Great location though. Just a 5 minute walk to Georgia Aquarium, Coca Cola museum, and the Atlanta Breakfast Club featured on Travel Channel. Update! Downgrading to 1 star for no refund policy. C'mon, plans change and fall through, usually outside of people's control not that I WANT to stay here again but I guess they wouldn't understand that. I just hope my hard earned money goes toward fixing the glaring problems this lemon of a hotel has. Serves me right I guess.
I am in this hotel right now… so many problems… i usually don’t spend time giving bad reviews because I know that service can be very subjective. However, my experience here has been the worst… I just needed to leave a review so that this hotel improves. First of all I got a room with a broken toilet. When I told the front desk they did quickly respond to the matter and sent a maintenance guy up to fix it. Did not get fixed. It would have been very easy to know it wasn’t fixed by just flushing the toilet even once. The clock in the room was broke and there was left over trash in the room too but I just let that go because people can make mistakes… but instead of trying to change the room and make a better experience for us… I had to ask twice to get a room change and guess what… we got a room that was worse… No body wash. No hair dryer… broken and taped air conditioner. And refrigerator in the bathroom? which is disgusting and when I asked the front desk says there is no hair dryer left…and not everyroom has a hair dryer… And they are telling me that i need to go down to the front desk to change my room back to the room that has a broken toliet to get the hair dryer from the other room and then change it all back. I did NOT come to this hotel to do work for the hotel and not get proper service. I feel like they gave me a room that was not in a proper state even if they should be compensating me with the bad experience I had… Very disappointed and will NEVER visit again.
Terrible hotel. I have stayed in other Aloft hotels and had a great experience. This one is run down, poorly managed, and lacking in the amenities shown on the website. The pool is “closed for maintenance” and very dirty with broken lounge chairs and an overall run down appearance-NOT at all what you see on the website. The courtyard seating area was dirty with stained couch cushions. The bar was closed when we arrived at 7pm even though they advertise open every day from 4:30-1000pm. Our room had no phone-which I’ve never seen in a hotel ever-and they advertise wake up calls. Seems like a safety violation. Our room was never serviced during our 2 night stay. The “Restaurant” is a fast food window where you can order a bagel or egg and cheese sandwich…we waited at the window for a while but no one was there so we left. I am shocked that this hotel is acceptable to the Marriott chain. I made the mistake of not reading reviews when I booked-I just assumed an Aloft Marriott Bonvoy hotel in the hotel district of Atlanta would be nice-I was wrong. Other reviews are equally bad and appears the pool has been down for months and the service has been poor all along. I will never stay in another Aloft and will seriously consider if Marriott is still decent hotel brand moving forward. The rooms were also $200+ a night for a weeknight in September and some of the other hotels nearby weren’t that much more-save yourself then misery and go with another hotel.
As a Marriott Titanium member, I’ve been to my fair share of Marriott properties globally. While this location was not terrible, it was very underwhelming. The room was tiny and shower had no shelves for razor or anything else. They layout was very sparse, lacking even a desk. Staff was not very friendly and checking out took much longer than expected since there was an issue with my rate. Gym was nice but due to trendy theme of the hotel it was difficult to find. I would look at other Marriott properties if I go to Downtown Atlanta again.
I would give this place NO STARS if I could!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HOOOOOORRIIIIIIBLE!!!! Our room wasn’t cleaned AT ALL during our four night stay. We didn’t get clean towels the first day so we called front desk when we returned that evening only to be told that housekeeping was gone for the day, they had no towels at the front desk and we would have to wait until 8am the best morning. We were leaving at 5am for an event so we used our old towels since they also were not removed from the room. The next day we once again didn’t have towels when we returned in the evening so we called the front desk and were told this time that they had “two bath towels but no hand or face towels”. They also required us to come down to get them. We called every single day sometimes twice requesting cleaning but it never happened. We even saw the housekeepers in the hallway and asked why our room wasn’t cleaned ONE HOUR after calling to remind the front desk to have it cleaned. They told us our room wasn’t on their list to be cleaned but we had just called!!! And had called the night before as well. Did I mention almost EVERY person I spoke to at front desk and housekeeping looked under the age of 18? Yep. There was only one tiny trash can that never got taken out. No new sheets or beds made. The bathroom door is a sliding door that doesn’t close because it’s too narrow for the doorway. The bed overhead light doesn’t work. Very dim lighting in the room due to no overhead lighting. White fingerprints on the inside of the bathroom door. Television display said “no signal” so we called the front desk to be told “channels begin at channel 11”. There was no literature in the room to tell us this. Then on day three channels 3 and up worked just fine. We were traveling with friends so we had three rooms in a block. So why did only our room have a microwave and no one else’s? Black paint speckled on orange wall probably from the floor treatment. Door to the room wouldn’t close unless pushed shut and pushed HARD. The iron even on the lowest setting burnt a whole in my friend’s shirt. No dresser in the room. There were sticky spots on the carpet!!!! Weird retro vibe. Creepy elevator. The ONLY reason we stayed here is because it was near our conference venue and the other nearby hotels were booked. I’m sure I’m missing something but you get the point which is DON’T STAY HERE!!!
The hotel manager and the bartender were both so pleasant and hospitable! I would definitely stay here again the next time I am in Atlanta. Super close to concert venues and everything downtown has to offer.Rooms: 4/5
