Altar'd State

My dad passed away this past week. It has shattered my sister, my mom and I. We went into this store because my sister still has to go back to school and she needs clothes that fit her. But my point of this is the staff here was so kind to us. I’m sure we looked a mess with tears in our eyes when a certain song would play. The staff did not treat us differently in a good way. They were so kind and made us laugh which felt good. Thank you guys so much we will be back.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! after shopping around the store we found that the only affordable items were on the clearance. after getting to the counter to check out, half of the clearance items rang up as full price. after asking the attendant what it was about she shrugged her shoulders and continued with the total. after refusing to pay full price on clearance items, we put back more than we purchased. the entire store is a huge waste of time, if you’re going to have a clearance section at least find a way to differentiate actual clearance items from random items thrown in the room. do not spend your money here, the girls working up front are living off mommy and daddy money so $100 over what you were expecting to spend is “no big deal” to them.

The staff was extra friendly and nice. While I was trying on dresses they were extremely attentive in helping me find what I liked and providing the best customer service. Emily and Izzy were absolutely dolls!

I visited for the first time yesterday to return something for my daughter. I just got off work and looked like a hot mess and felt out of place walking into a nice boutique. There were two young ladies one blonde and the other dark hair that treated me so kind and went above and beyond to help me. I wish I had their names so they would be recognized by their superior. I ended up treating myself to an amazing pair of jeans. What a great shopping experience. I will be back!!

My wife absolutely loves this store. I can always find a gift that she will like. I enjoy that the store has faith elements and the staff is always so sweet. Last Christmas we bought gifts for my mom and sister who were coming to stay with us exclusively from Altar’d State and they loved everything. Men, if you are looking for a nice gift for your lady or a special woman this place is for you!

Beautiful store, and very kind staff. Sarah was VERY sweet and helpful my whole time shopping. & I will agree with others, they ask you how you’re doing A LOT, but I’m sure this is a company policy thing and the employees are required to do so, & I work in retail so I can understand that. That being said, great store and high quality merchandise. Also a great place to shop for pretty weddings gifts. I will be back.

A dress we bought this past weekend was washed by hand, in cold water and with Woolite. This was what it said to do on the tag with regard to caring instructions. We used Woolite since it’s supposed to be gentler on clothing The soapy water got discolored a little while washing, but not enough to alarm us. We patted the dress with bath towel to get excess water out. We hung it up to dry. The next morning, we saw that the reddish color from the floral print had bled all over the dress. We will take it back!

Based on the previous reviews, it looks like this store needs to find a happy medium between leaving customers alone and being helpful. Seriously, I get asking the customer once or twice while they're in the store if they're finding everything alright but I must have been asked like 10 times within a 15 minute span. I think a lot of people like to be left alone when they're shopping, especially if they have already said they're doing fine. One girl asked me 3 times, another twice. In addition, as I was walking through the clothing sections I got asked by 3 or 4 other girls in under a minute. They're weren't many people shopping, and maybe the employees were just bored but seriously it was overkill and made me uncomfortable to shop. It annoyed me to the point that I didn't want to be in the store anymore so instead of taking my time and browsing through clothes, I decided to just go pay for the earrings I picked out and get out of there. It also made me feel like they were staying on me because they thought I was going to shoplift. Either way, you don't want to annoy your customer or make them feel like you're watching them. Some sort of training needs to be done for the staff because I honestly would probably never go back after that experience but I'll give you 5 stars anyway.
