Best landlord I have ever had and certainly one of the best in all of Philadelphia. I lived in a center city apartment they rented to me for 3 years. The apartment itself was wonderful! Clean upon move-in, and exceptionally well cared for. Alvin Levin & Son delivers a mom and pop feel in addition to absolutely stellar service...in this city that is almost impossible to find! They always treated me with respect, kept their word, and prioritized my requests. If I called or emailed about a repair I would often get same day service. The maintenance men and exterminator are all great people who do a quick and thorough job. I locked myself out of the apartment multiple times, but fortunately there is an overnight maintenance guy who takes his job very seriously and responds to phone calls at all hours of the night! My security deposit was returned to me within 30 days with only a small portion taken for maintenance and honestly after 3 years I expected it to be more. The folks in the office are polite and timely when responding to tenants. Although I only met Mr. Levin a few times, one of those times he brought his son along to fix a leak and I thought it was sweet to see him teaching his son the family business.

I lived in one of these apartments for four years and was very happy during my stay. Management was always prompt and friendly when responding to maintenance requests and they kept the building clean. I would highly recommend.

Very professional and responsive leasing company! Rented a 1BR apartment in the Fitler Square neighborhood from Alvin Levin & Son, and had a great experience. Building was kept in really good condition, with regular cleaning of the main hallway and stairwells, as well as preventative measures for pest control. Any questions or concerns were promptly addressed, and security deposit was returned in full within a month of moving out. Moving across country so I didn't resign, but if I ever find myself in Philly again, Alvin Levin would be my first choice in looking for an apartment.

Great experience: I rented from Alvin Levin co for 3 years and thought they were great. I had to move because of job reasons but if I need to look for another apartment in the center city area id definitely consider them again. My apartment was not the highest end place, but it was very clean and well maintained. The people I dealt with were professional and the service was good as well. We had an incident where my dishwasher stopped working. They sent one of their maintenance staff over and he was unable to fix it, but within two days they replaced it with a brand new one. I feel like people tend to write reviews when they are displeased so I wanted to take the time to give credit where its due

We rented our home from Alvin M Levin & Son for the past 5 years prior to moving this year. In that time our issues with our property were minimal and when they did occur were quickly addressed. Everyone we have dealt with has been pleasant and professional. I would highly recommend them!

Stand-up Landlords and Amazing Service. We've only rented our place for a few months, but the landlord and staff at the office have been great so far - extremely responsive and always friendly and accommodating. We've had a few minor issues with maintenance and they have jumped to fix them. We're so impressed with the service so far, we'd recommend these landlords to anyone. ***Update: Having rented here now a full year, this review stands up! If you have a chance to rent through them, I would, they are really responsible, professional landlords with amazing properties.

A note of appreciation to all our loyal clients, tenants, and other residents over the many years and generations that recognize that no matter how hard organizations, companies and individuals try to do the right thing and act responsively and responsibly, there is no way everyone is going to be happy. In cases where we find extremely negative feedback, more often than not it is due to a tenant who was unable to be released early from a lease obligation, or was not pleased with the response from staff with respect to a firmly held company policy. Policies that are in place to effectuate fairness to all, avoiding improper appearances. To begin, 0 stars isn’t an option or that’s what it would be. Never in my life have I dealt with more dishonest, slimy people. Some of their properties aren’t bad which is how they get you. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. They will lie, cheat and basically steal from you. I firmly believe some of the other reviews were planted because the woman in the office is the most Miserable person on earth, no one would ever describe her as friendly and she is the furthest thing from polite. JR, who is the “property manager” reprimanded me like a school child for a “strongly worded email” I sent him regarding holes in our kitchen floor that went unrepaired for several months that was just the tip of the iceberg. But they will never electronically reply back to you as to avoid a paper trail, instead they will just show up at your doorstep whenever they see fit and let themselves into your rental with absolutely no notice. There was a strange man eating lunch on my kitchen table one day when I came home and he informed me that JR sent him to “check the pipes.” It was disturbing. All and all, this company is scum and I am warning you all that renting from them in any capacity is a mistake. They make Comcast customer service seem like a dream come true. STAY AWAY!

I had a great experience with Alvin Levin real estate. The building was well kept and they were responsive when I had any issues. I would recommend to anyone moving to center city especially considering the other less attentive landlords in the city.
