During a visit to New York we spent an evening at The Ambassador Theatre to see Chicago, a show we have seen many times. The Ambassador is located with a few seconds walking distance just off Times Square and is a well established venue for Broadway shows. In comparison to some theatres, The Ambassador is nothing special. It is a relatively small theatre and of its age in respect of condition however, very suitable and capable to put on excellent stage productions. Worth a visit to see a show.
I want to love this place. The show is Chicago. The staff was all super friendly. Some of the best we’ve seen on Broadway 18 shows this year so far. Nadine was honestly one of the best ushers I’ve seen work the aisles. The theater itself was a little disappointing in its upkeep. You would figure making $40k+ per night, they could touch up the paint
Don't get drinks here! I know it's tempting, but two doubles and two bottles of water was $78! I saw Chicago and the show itself was good, but holy cow I wasn't expecting the price of drinks. We got a specialty themed drink for the show which was a flavored Cosmo with cranberry and it was a little too sweet.
Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to NYC. We got the tickets a day ahead and got a nice deal to sit in the 6th row, so almost in the very front! Got the drinks in there, and it was around 20 bucks for 2 sodas, so not that bad for this venue I guess. The show itself was amazing. We will remember it for long time and it only sparked our interest of other broadway shows. Definitely worth it!
Fantastic, historic venue. Saw "Chicago", and loved it. Special thanks to Debbie, my usher, for her kindness and history lesson, and to Hayden, who had the thankless task of reminding those who couldn't seem to remember to keep their masks on. People like those employees make me feel safe to see productions like the wonderful one we saw.
Lovely theatre with a good view from all seats. We arrived early and were let in straight away with security and covid checks carried out promptly. Everyone was super helpful and got us to our seats without any issues. We were really lucky to get upgraded as we were early and some better seats were available. Able to purchase wine or water directly from your seat, bit pricey but not any more so than any other theatre and what you would expect to pay. Queue for bar at interval was very quick. Show was amazing as expected. Very talented cast. Only down side was the mask situation which is obviously out with the theatres control, they are very strict with ensuring your mask is on at all times and only removed for sips of your drink.
Chicago is a classic ageless musical. Ambassador theatre is quite small, but that makes the show intimate for everyone. There is no huge queues to get in or out of the theatre. You will surely have a good time
In my opinion theater is nothing too special- old but with good AC, small amount of restrooms huge queues, the staff is quite friendly and manages well the crowds, pricey snacks and drinks. Chicago that we went to see is definitely an outstanding show!
I successfully got cheaper ticket as 79 USD for 1F center seat at TKTS booth in Times Square. Anyway, musical Chicago was an enjoyable show. Toilets waiting queues long during intermission.
Chicago was awesome!!! First and best musical in our lives. Will go fot next ones after this one. It was awesome. Wine cost a bit but you should buy some and have fun. Because you will for sure even without that wine
