Absolutely THE BEST daycare I’ve had!!! Mrs. Erica and her staff are absolutely amazing!!! They had my daughter Ahmaya from 6mos -2.5 years old! I Never had a complaint!! Their communication with us was superb!!! She was cared for and taught exceptionally well and it still shows two years later!!! I hated that I had to leave the Va Beach area!!! They were family to us!!!
Had an interview here and didn’t get the job. While I was there, the staff there was nice but the director seemed to not care much about what I had to say at all. Would definitely not work or bring your kids here.
Amberley Child Care is a one stop shop. They provide excellent daycare services. My son was an infant when he started. Since then he has mastered all his motor skills and he is now walking!!! He should be running come next week. Side note: Please do not bring your child after 9am. They have lesson places in place ! You can not interfere with your childs lesson plans for the day okayyy! Lol. They work extremely with toddlers also. My daughters cognitive development has increased significantly since she has started. She knows all of her colors and shapes. She will sing me to sleep with all the new lullabies she knows! Im extremely pleased with there services. They all have positive energy! Shout out to Ms. Cherelle. Shes very knowledgeable. When Im unsure shes my go to person. I cant thank her enough!!! Also shout out to Ms. Tawanna super woman Ms. Day, Ms. Tay, Ms. Gigi. Mrs. Monica, Ms. Pidy and Mrs. Rowe! I love all of them they are great and will welcome you baby with open arms. Bring your child here from one mother to another!
My son has been attending Amberley Child Care since he was 6 weeks old. We had to find a daycare quick since my nanny did not work out. Erika Campfield and her daughter made us feel like part of their family and put me at ease. They have always been very attentive and accommodating. The staff allowed me to bring my own breast milk and solids for him. When he was going through his biting phase they spent special one on one time to make sure the problem was identified and a plan was developed to help him understand what he really wanted...food! He is almost 2 and can sing various songs, speak phrases in French and Spanish, and count to 10 when prompted. I would recommend this day care to anyone.
I was extremely hesitant about sending my first born to a daycare but now I could not feel more blessed to have Erica and her staff in my Jacques' life! He is barely 8 months old but he the excitement he exhibits when he realizes we've arrived at the daycare tells me he is definitely in the right hands. Not to mention all of the exposure to learning opportunities they provide for him. I had a slight concern about his sitting up unassisted milestone, I mentioned it in passing and within a few days it was mastered thanks to their dedication to my son's development.
Though Amberley Child Care was by far the first daycare my son had actually felt comfortable with, they did not feel comfortable with him. After about a month with them, they gave me a two week notice saying that they could no longer accommodate my son's needs. My son is a two year old toddler, mind you. Due to a nose bleed that was brought on by him being hot, they felt uncomfortable with his 'health needs'. Because he's the only child who gets a nose bleed when he's hot apparently. Also, they worded to me that he was not their first "problem child". He's two and climbs on chairs and doesn't stick with group activities when he's bored and has a tantrum when he doesn't get his way. Apparently the only toddler who hits himself when he has a tantrum. After finding another child care center who was appalled to hear of Amberley Child Care's reasoning, the center director of Amberley even asked me "are you sure they won't kick him out after a short period of time for his behavior?" And had previously told me my son needed a "specialist" for his behavior. I can honestly say that where he attends now is the same daycare I grew up in. They aren't behavioral specialists, they understand children and are properly trained. It wasn't that Amberley was not able to meet a toddler's needs, but that they were insufficient in their training, unprofessional, and inadequate in their services. Unless you have a child that doesn't throw tantrums like a normal child, I would highly recommend not wasting your time with Amberley Child Care.
So I could’ve wrote a review a long time ago but I decided to wait because I knew my daughters time here was coming to an end I have nothing but great things to say about this daycare. My daughter was there since she was 10 months old if I was not leaving for another state she would stay here as long as possible every single staff member has been nothing but great with care for her. They have been very attentive towards her and especially with concerns I was having with her development they made sure they were on top of telling me how she has been doing and giving me advice on things that might help her. I would recommend this daycare to anyone. and a special thank you to Ms. Roe who always shows genuine concern in checking up on how things were going for us. We will miss you guys and if we ever come back to Virginia we will definitely be back to see you !
My kids were coming home sick every week with numerous illnesses from pneumonia to strep throat for 4 months. When one of them contracted hand, foot and mouth disease without notice from the Director of an outbreak, that was the last straw. They need to invest time in better cleaning standards. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone
I am a Family Medicine Physician and I initially registered with this daycare after an abuse issue at the last daycare; I spent a year with this daycare due to the proximity to work and security cameras they had established. There were SOOO many issues in the infant and toddler room over that year that I should have left sooner but I stuck it out until recently after poor management caused me to have me relocate. The negligence and unprofessionalism was there—should have caught the signs sooner. For all of you new mothers out there, if you are looking for cheap daycare and expecting nothing else outside of babysitting, come here. If you actually care about the welfare of your kids, beware. Some staff are great, others are questionable I noticed many healthcare issues arise over the year which I have tried to assist the daycare in correcting—which is why I stayed for so long but some issues still have not been corrected Issues found: Breast milk left out for >2 hours and re-fed to the infant Regular milk left out for hours and almost re-fed to my son warm as can be before I caught it and called the daycare attendant out on it who knows how long that had been going on Brought in aquaphor for PREVENTION of diaper rashes then a year later got pushback because someone in their incorrect wisdom believed that it caused fungal rashes Mismanagement of otc medications like sunblock/aquaphor—would have one staff member tell me they put it on when it wasn’t applied, causing diaper rash or unprotected sun exposure b/c the staff was ‘too busy’ or didn’t keep up with paperwork Brought in breakfast/snacks for him throughout the day that the staff would not give to him sometimes although it was properly labeled with time to be given I had to formally ask to find out that he wasn’t eating some meals at lunch causing weight loss instead of staff identifying that problem and notifying me as his parent ahead Carpeting is still so filthy that my child was coming home with malodorous socks that were stained brown—Every day; still haven’t rectified that one My child ate lunch with the daycare and when he had an episode of diarrhea from the food, it wasn’t properly met with corrective actions. Injuries would occur during the day to my son that I wouldn’t find out about until picking him up later in the day one episode he sustained a scratch on his face with dried blood noted but staff stated it ‘wasn’t an open wound so I wasn’t contacted’ Walked into ‘water play’ day finding my child freezing cold/wet sitting in a chair without a blanket/towel to keep him warm—never let him participate again Found a daycare attendant watching >10 kids by herself, overwhelmed; when I advised the owner that she needed help, she looked incredulous and looked like I was the problem although the poor staff member confirmed she needed assistance Revolving door of faces—you bring your kid in one day and they’re with completely different staff; no warning/introductions; just expected to go with it Watched an attendant drop a glove on the floor then pick it up to be reused for a diaper change Training days can randomly occur throughout the year without sufficient notice—someone posts the date in an inconspicuous location and expects everyone to know causing work hour loss Barely wash hands before eating, increasing risk of infection/contamination One staff also not properly washing hands appropriately—literally watched her let my 1.5 year old son ‘wash his hands’ on his own and call it quits afterwards, even when he touched the faucet again after ‘cleaning his hands’ Emailed the director and owner regarding health issues and they still haven’t gotten back to me weeks later because they’re too busy If you know what quality/standards are, it’s hard to accept lower than BASELINE/STANDARD conditions expected for your child. Problem they had with me is that I can’t sit around and let these things happen. Someone needs to be an advocate for the kids. Save yourself the headache and frustration.
I LOVE LOVEEE LOVEEE this daycare me and my husband's first impression of this daycare was awesome we loved the fact that it was small but just right for our two little girls and we saw all the things that they would be learning and all the wonderful activities that they would be doing. We just absolutely Loved it!! All of the staff are soo loving and so friendly they really make you feel like this will be like a second home for your children while your off to work. I would recommen this daycare to any and everyone even friends and family, I promise you that you won't be disappointed. Me and my husband travel all the way from Chesapeake Virginia all the to Virginia Beach just so that our children can come here. But with all that being said this is just a wonderful daycare they make us feel like family and we love to see our children's smiling faces everyday of the week after we pick them up. They make us feel very safe to know that they have our children in their care Come out today or Tuesday and register your child!!
