That is one of the best dining experiences I have had in Denver in years. Totally understated from the curb but the food was amazing!!! We were all raving about the food throughout the meal. Excellent service, classy relaxed ambiance and great wine on the menu. The managers Jimmy and Shamim even came over and checked on our table which was such a nice touch. I honestly can’t wait for my next excuse to go back!!

Really good environment. Different world once you enter behind the curtains. Food is really good, really good fusion of different foods into one dish.

Remember the scene in the Wizard of Oz, the one with the man behind the curtain? Well...entering Ambli feels a little like that scene, but, when you push through the curtained entrance, you arrive in the middle of a lively, eclectic, almost club-like ,atmosphere. There are high tops, low tops, bar space, tables by the kitchen, tables by windows; for a smaller space, there is a place for everyone from an intimate date night, to a family gathering. The service is exemplary with out being obsequious; the servers make spot-on recommendations for drinks and food. The menu is not as robust as is typical for Denver, but the meant-to-be shared Tappas are each delightful and will leave you wanting more! The main courses are smaller in portion, and lack presentation flare BUT are cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning to give you the feeling of eating something no one you know could cook at home.
Is this a hidden "foodie" treasure? Not exactly, but it is a wonderful place to unwind on a weeknight date night or have a spice-y weekend "girls night out".

My wife and I stopped in for dinner on a Thursday night. I ordered a bottle of wine because it was on special. A glass was $13 and the normally $40 bottle was $30. I figured I’d have a glass or two and take the rest home. The server brought the bottle and poured two glasses - somewhat smallish pours. My wife mentioned to me that the bottle was already opened and wasn’t full when the server began pouring, which I thought I also noticed. I confirmed with the server, “We ordered a bottle, right?” She said yes. I told my wife let’s just wait to see what the bottle looks like when she brings it back with a chiller. She brought a chiller but set it away from the table in a nook where the servers keep water jugs, so I decided to wait to see what was on the bill. Also, we didn’t have access to the bottle, so we weren’t self-pouring. In hindsight, I should have said something immediately. When the bill came, we were only charged for one glass. I figured the server just misunderstood and poured a glass between the two of us, which made sense considering the smallish pours and not full bottle. When I give her my credit card, she asked if I wanted to take the rest of the bottle to go. I said, “No thanks. We only got charged for the one glass, which is fine.” She said it was a mistake on the check. We can pay for two glasses - $26 - or a bottle - $30 - and take the rest. I told her the bottle wasn’t full when she poured it. She said it was and that she broke the seal. There was less than a quarter of the bottle left, and I asked her if she was really saying that a full 750mL bottle would have less than 1/4 of the bottle left after pouring two glasses. Unbelievably, she said, “That’s what is left.” I was so shocked I didn’t know what to say. I said I’d pay for the two glasses, paid the bill, and still tipped 20%. This was my second time eating here. We came back because everything was great the first time, but I’ll never go back after the server tried to screw me. I wouldn’t have cared if she just admitted the mistake, but to double down and tell me that’s how much would be left of a new bottle after two glasses is unforgivable. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but it’s called for in this case.
