I went here for a plain vanilla cake, which was $20 on the site, when I pointed it out to the employee, she said it was vanilla and $20.. At checkout the other girl asked for $30. When I asked why, due to language barrier she called the owner who said the prices went up due to inflation 50%??. I was in a hurry and paid the amount. Now, the cake. The cake was and the frosting tasted old. Any bakery that has any self respect should be able to make a vanilla sponge cake using fresh ingredients and sell it when it's fresh. Not charge $30 for something Acme can do better - for less.
This bakery used to be the go to spot for pan dulce and cakes but it has turned into the bakery you stay away from. It’s like they just got lazy or changed personnel. They’re cakes turn out really dry and flavorless such as the tiramisu we had which also tasted old. I don’t know what happened to this spot but I used to really like the pan dulce and cakes especially el imposible and tiramisu.
Shouldn't there be a law to allow "paid customers" to use the Restroom inside the Bakery? With capacity of more than 10 seating customers at a commercial district in Philly? I thought it was the Law in PA. Disappointed for not allowing us to use their restroom.
If you are looking for Mexican style pastries, you want to go here. WARNING! You will not want to go anywhere else after you visit this place.
Good dessert place, friendly staff
I was looking forward to getting authentic Spanish cake for Spanish friends of mine, but was very disappointed that the staff spoke no English and would not serve me.
Hopefully doing business with you soon!
Super friendly staff and charming decor. Nice selection of Mexican breads. Churros were tasty.
Hours are not quite accurate just walked around there fro. 9am to 11am place was barely opening at 11am, other than that it has ok variety of Mexican goods, and cakes are delicious
Friendly service. Soke of the pastries are not overly sweet, which is a great change from sugar saturated pastries
