Had all 4 wisdom teeth removed by Dr Stein and the process went better than I could've imagined. Dr Stein was very communicative from the beginning to the end of the operation. Highly recommend!
I have now seen Dr. Stein on multiple occasions. I have had 4 extractions and he has done 4 of my implants. I have an extreme fear of dental work and they always make sure I am comfortable. The front desk staff is always very pleasant over the phone and in the office. I am never thrilled to go to the dentist but I am grateful for Dr. Stein and his staff.
Dr. Stein was recommended to me by my normal DDS due to an emergency with my wisdom teeth. His staff was quick and efficient. They took me on the same day that I called and were able to pull all three of my wisdom teeth within 15 minutes explaining the entire process to me and guiding me step by step. Dr. Stein and his assistant couldn't have made this a better experience for me, especially with my first time in oral surgery. They also called to check in with me the next day. I couldn't recommend him more - the only downside was I didn't get dissolvable stitches but, in truth, it's helping me remember to take care of my mouth a lot better.
I went in today to take out one of my upper wisdom teeth and I was nervous because of everything I looked up regarding the process and the doctors. The reviews didn't help but I was pleasantly surprised. Eileen in the front desk was really helpful. And the nurse who prepped me was patient with my questions and I was blabbering cause I was nervous but she came back when she thought she missed something I said it wasn't really directed at her, just nervousness. And Dr.Blank was really good too. He talked to me to alleviate my nervousness and was really encouraging. But best of all, the process was smooth and quick. I was expecting to be sedated or something but he said that local anesthesia enough and no need to add trauma. And then not counting the time it took for the anesthesia to take place, I was in and out in about 5 minutes. P.S They've changed locations.
A great experience. I needed an impacted wisdom tooth extracted and my regular oral surgeon said he could do it only with an extra procedure that my insurance didn’t cover and that would have cost $1850. I sought a second opinion from Dr. Stein worth the $160 consultation fee that my insurance didn’t cover, whom my dentist said he thought so highly of he sent his own family to him. Dr. Stein said he could do the extraction without the extra procedure. He did. Everything went great. Very little pain the first day, and by the second day almost none. No complications at all. A lot of the negative reviews here talk about the dumpy office and rude staff. It is true that the office is kind of run down and ugly, but it didn’t feel unsanitary at all. The staff was a little brusque, but nothing awful. Dr Stein himself was fine.
Went in for an implant, was nervous - in and out within an hour and the operation was executed to perfection. Seasoned and straightforward surgeon who has been doing this since ‘86. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
I went in to get two wisdom teeth removed. At my initial consultation Dr. Stein said I would have the option of anesthesia or nitrous oxide for the procedure. However, on the day of the procedure, he said he only had nitrous oxide. So I had to go through with this on laughing gas which is not what I would have preferred was not expecting to get so high. He successfully removed the wisdom teeth. But I was left with searing mouth sores since my mouth had to be wide open for so long which were very painful for over a week following the procedure. I thought I would be okay and get painkillers, and when I was leaving, the person behind the front desk hastily wrote me 2 prescriptions for a painkiller and an antibiotic. Should have been simple. But they messed up. I go to the pharmacy about 2 hours afterwards when the pain really started to set in. The pharmacist told me that the prescription for the painkiller was INVALID because they did not specify a quantity! So I couldn’t get the painkillers. I called Dr. Stein’s office but they were closed at this point. I left a message explaining that I needed a new prescription. This was a huge disappointment and I had to resort to ibuprofen for the pain. The next day I called the office again; a receptionist answered. I explained to her how the prescription was invalid and that I was in a lot of pain; she apologized and I got the impression in her voice that she was thinking “wow, I can’t believe we screwed this up.” I gave her the location of my preferred pharmacy and she said that she would send another prescription to my pharmacy. When I went to the pharmacy later that day, they told me that no such prescription was sent to them. Unbelievable. I called the office again. And again. And again. No answer. I gave up on them and had to make it though 10 days of oral pain with just over-the-counter painkillers. Luckily I had the antibiotics. But this should not have happened. Very unprofessional experience.
I had my wisdom teeth removed here last month. The procedure went well, and Dr. Stein was efficient and all. However 3 weeks after all of the stitches were supposedly removed, I just found one in my mouth. Not knowing what it was, I tried pulling it. It then bled and the surrounding area is now inflamed. I am so upset that Dr. Stein did not properly finish the job he started. I am not in New York anymore, so now I will have to find another doctor to pull the remaining stitch out.
Did not care about my comfort at all during a procedure. I was constantly expressing how it felt like he was ripping my cheek over my head by how hard his assistant and Dr. Stein pulled my cheek out of the way with their metal tool. When i would move slightly to try to alleviate the discomfort from how aggressive they moved my cheek, he would correct my head position by forcefully pushing my chin back to where he wanted it. I now have a very bad and very large sore on the inside of my cheek from where the tool contacted the inside of my cheek. very uncomfortable and would not recommend based on this alone.
Rude male receptionist , incompetent and does not know what he is doing. Doctor has terrible bedside manner, if any. STAY AWAY. PLACE IS A SCAM. I went in for a wisdom tooth consultation, which BOTH Receptionists said were free. I asked repeatedly and was assured my first consultation would be of no charge. Now I received a $160 bill for that SAME consultation, which when I spoke to the receptionist on the phone he said "yes I did say it would be of no charge but" -___- . He was rude and dismissive. They only care about the money and will bill things incorrectly to get as much from you as they can. AVOID AVOID AVOID. A lady was having issues with them when I walked in, and I should've taken that as a warning.
