The pastor here was saying Mass and he was on fire. He really gave a strong homily. If we lived in houston, this would definitely be a church I would like to attend. One issue I might ask them to think about is to explain to the many visitors how communion occurs. Especially in this post covid environment, people don't know how to act. The deacon was coughing noticeably and was serving communion by hand. And most people were accepting it on the tongue. The host was not infused with wine. So it would have been nice to have had the process explained. Just a minor suggestion though the homily was definitely worth the trip and the church itself is incredibly beautiful. I'm surprised it's not a cathedral given its history and beauty. I also loved the banner outside inviting ball game attendees to stop by for some worship. Brilliant.
The Latin Mass is beautiful! But They do not give the Blood of Christ here, only the Host. Please give the full sacrament as Jesus Christ commands. Body and Blood not one or the other. Jesus instructions were very clear.
Where to begin. This is an absolutely beautiful church and is definitely worth a visit if you are in Houston. There is a lot of history in this church as it is the first Catholic Church in Houston. We were very pleased with our first visit and were greeted very friendly by other people as well as Father Felix who shook our hands as we left and thanked us for visiting. This church gets a lot of visitors as it is located in prime time downtown right next to Minute Maid park. We have enjoyed all of our visits here, 7AM is nice, traditional, and not as crowded as the later Sunday services.
One of my favorite churches I have ever visited including my visits to Saint Patricks NYC, Italy, Vatican, and Spain. It is the oldest Catholic church in Houston and right across from the Minute Maid Park so no excuse to not check it out after or before an Astros game. Father Felix is amazing and I like attending one of the masses they have either Sunday morning or afternoon.
Really worth the visit, it's cool inside but there's also a lot of light inside from the outside, nice wood as well. Pity I couldn't attend the mass!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

Come and celebrate daily mass with us at 6:30am. Also on every 2nd Wednesday of each month, there is an Adoration for men. The beauty and faithfulness of this church and its community will transform our faith journey.
