Rob was our pro glassblower and instructed/helped us achieve some amazing final results. Really a wonderful teacher and guide to all things related to the subject. He really was a perfect host and facility was just as interesting. Great experience and highlight to a great date weekend in Burlington…. Bravo
My husband and I were in Burlington for the eclipse in April 2024. We signed up for a one-hour class and loved it. We each chose to make a cup, and we and another couple had a great time. The instructor was great and we love the cups we made. And they had great glassware for sale. Highly recommend both for the class and for shopping.
I was lucky to experience glass blowing with the fantastic teacher, Matt. He was kind and patient with my lack of ability and the outcome was phenomenal. I also picked up a very cool work apron for doing pottery on a recent visit. Thanks for all the inspiration! --Heather, ED, Shelburne Craft School
We didn't know what to expect when we signed up for a glassblowing glass other than from the crystal clear description of "what to expect during your glassblowing class" on the website. I can't believe how much fun we had and how amazing the final pieces were that we created with more than a little help from the professional. Our 3-person group had one professional, Rob, take us through the safety measures of course and the full process for each of us to create our piece a vase, a glass, and a bowl. We never felt rushed. The environment and the vibe are great. The facility is impressive. Because we couldn't be there the next day to pick up our pieces that needed to cool overnight they did a great job packaging and shipping them to us. Very highly recommend. And definitely read the what-to-expect before you go so you're dressed appropriately, etc.
Excellent staff that aids and assists you in making a glass item. Made a blown glass bowl in their class. Great guys, instructive and educational!
Stopped and visited with some of the team members/owners of AO Glass in Burlington, Vermont. Architects, interior designers, and owners are highly encouraged to contact this team to share and discuss ideas for special projects and custom lighting fixtures. Impressive work!
The AO Glass blowing class was fascinating. If you’re local or just visiting Burlington, add AO’s glass blowing class to your list of activities. My wife, 19 year old son and I spent an hour with Rich and Mack where we actually made glassware and learned every step of the process. Mack welcomed us to the shop and gave us the low down on safety in the most relaxed and supportive way. We each chose an item to make and jumped right in. I made a tumbler with blue and white accents while my wife made a clear flower vase and my son made a colored bowl. We rolled the pipe, blew through the pipe into the molten glass and shaped each item using the tools of the trade - the Jack, paddle and the wet forming block. It was so fun and we all walked away with a new appreciation for anything made of glass. I’d have to say that this one hour class gave me the opportunity to appreciate another art form I’ve taken for granted until now. Best activity for anyone.
Our team had a fantastic time at AO Glass during our recent team activity. The personalized ornament stamping activity was a standout, allowing each team member to choose from a variety of stamp designs. AO Glass offers a memorable and entertaining group activity, blending artistry, camaraderie, and a welcoming environment. Highly recommended for a fun and creative outing with colleagues or friends.
They are amazing! Super friendly and ready to answer any and all questions! Got an up close and personal view of glass blowing! Could have stayed there all day! Really explains how much goes into each piece! Got to purchased a piece of their work while I was there!
I visited AO Glass when I was in Burlington -- their glassware is beautiful and of very high quality. I recently ordered a set of the pint glasses as a gift. I mistakenly entered the wrong address, so I contacted AO and left a message. Eva, an AO employee, called UPS and rerouted the shipment and called me back on a Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. to confirm. Additionally, Rich, the owner, sent me a text to confirm that the issue was addressed. Fantastic and personable customer service.
