Architectural Salvage Warehouse of Detroit (ASW Detroit) is the premier provider of deconstruction services and salvaged building materials in SE Michigan, and a national building materials reuse resource. ASW Detroit is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
Founded in 2003 with a primary goal of conserving and preserving historic and irreplaceable historical architectural artifacts by salvaging and reusing building materials through deconstruction, our mission and vision has since expanded to include a triple bottom line approach with a three pronged focus:
• Transform waste from environmental liability to economic asset through deconstruction and building materials reuse.
• Improve neighborhoods and communities through blight elimination and improved housing stock by providing low cost building materials to Detroit residents while empowering customers through training and partnership.
• Develop the workforce and economic infrastructure needed for a thriving deconstruction and building materials reuse industry through career training, contractor training, local employment, and support of local entrepreneurs and business in the deconstruction and building materials reuse market.
