First time,,, food is fresh, love the taste of somthig different very please with the food i enjoyed alooooot, ill go again
Uncooked meat and hard uncooked rice in Goluptsi! Tried to call store, to let them know, but no one is answering the phone. Disappointed since I loved this store before....
Fantastic hot and cold bar. Excellent prices. Worthy of weekly if not more frequent visits. Love their "burgers" chicken, beef, pork, salads, fish,... Get there late morning for their soup before it's gone. Best visited with a crib sheet of names of meats in Russian script so you know what you're looking at if it's not obvious, like a chicken.
Well its got lots of variety. Depends what you looking for. And never forget to check expiration dates in any stores you shop.
When I work in Brighton Beach area I always go there to get something for lunch. I can't say that food is always fresh but it is most of the time. Just make sure if you get something that is supposed to be hot or warm that it is hot or warm. For example cutlets aren't always cooked the same day and if they aren't their taste isn't as good as if it was cooked few hours ago.
Staff are friendly and helpful. A lot of choices of prepared food. Presentation of the food is unsatisfactory, but mostly, the food is quiet tasty and there is no overload of garlic, like in some other Russian stores for example in "Taste of Russia." Prices are low on average $3.99 and there is a discount $2.99 after 5 pm. COVID rules and restrictions are not followed enough.
They sell expired food. Don't recommend to go there. Didn't pay attention to the expiration date of the sauce at the store. Tried that at home, the taste was horrible. It has been expired for about 10 months. 10 MONTHS. Also I was shoked the way they sell their cooked produce. Two huge pots of soups were just standing on low stools without any covers on them. It seems like they've never heard about any sanitation rules.
This place is not the best if you want high quality food. It’s budget friendly but not the best choice if you’re a tourist. The long lines after 5pm are annoying as hell and the customers are rude because “welcome to Brighton beach; home of little Russia”. Go elsewhere if you want quality and taste.
Shop with a good choice of homemade-style cooked food. A good choice for every taste with discounted prices after 7 p.m. Yes, the service sometimes leaves much to be desired. It is very necessary that they put napkins next to food, because if your arms get dirty or oily - it's only your problem. I am wondering how for so many years they didn't figure that good idea.
Their bliny are too thick. Some staff is helpful but the cashier sold me caviar that was not fresh and looked brown instead of red once I opened it on the container it said it was produced in 2018 and needed to be consumed immediately after being thawed, and yet it was being sold NOT frozen in February 2020.... I wish I read those labels while at the store but I was in a huge hurry.
