Came for an early dinner. Very simple yet clean decor. Long menu of Russian food staples and delicacies. Nothing fancy. Just good cooking and low key yet tasteful presentation.
If you are planning to visit Brighton beach and try some Soviet food, you definitely need to go to this place, don’t go anywhere else, and you will definitely want to come back again! Really nice authentic soviet atmosphere and very cool authentic soviet crowd! Absolutely love this place, always go there!
Great food and friendly service. I’ve been here 3 times, it’s very consistent! My favorite dishes are the stuffed cabbage, shnitzel, and olivier salad.
Highly recommend by friends with Russian and Ukrainian connections. The food were wonderful. From the shirmp cocktails to broscht. Father in law said the food reminds him of his Ukrainian grandmother's cooking. Service is a bit slow, but no one seems to mind it, as it is frequent by regulars. A real neighborhood gem.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
The place doesn’t look like much, but the food is absolutely delicious! Both pelmeni and vareniki looked handmade and had great flavor. Prices were reasonable. The only reason I knocked one star down was particularly slow service. Place wasn’t necessarily busy and there were two servers so there was honestly no reason they wouldn’t check on me or offer drink refill and such. That said food made the wait worth it
The food was good, although we all ordered the lamb kebabs, but I'm pretty sure it was beef but still delicious. The waiter was nice and friendly.
The food is excellent. Lox and herring cold appetizers, borscht authentic, had a lamb stew super tasty and not over spiced. If going for dessert, napoleon and tiramisù are really good. Ask for fried potatoes, crunchy on the outside and super soft inside. Enjoy!!!!!!Food: 5/5
Good food. The restaurant was too warm inside
Great option for Russian food in a sea of decent authentic Russian restaurants. Their chicken stroganoff is so good and creamy! Ukrainian borscht was just perfect as well. I recommend fried potatoes and you can never go wrong with potato dumplings vareniki.
Really tasty homestyle food, fairly priced as well; even with the recent inflation. I got the varkeniki, crepes, and avocado salad and it was all very fresh...yummy kompot too! The waiters were also nice and polite; which isn't always the case on Brighton : We had a dog with us and so we sat in the outdoor, heated area. Definitely recommend this place for a casual bite.
