Stopped by this store because I was on Division and had to kill an hour or so of time. I was honestly expecting high prices for just about everything, but was pleasantly surprised! This is a cute store with definitely a primary focus on more vintage style. They had $5 bins of clothes, some shoes and hats! I was trying hard not to walk out with anything and was really just there to look, but I couldn't pass on a few things and ended up getting 5 items for $40 - anthropologie brands too for the most part! Still debating on if I should go back for the $40 great condition doc martens... Great thrift spot! I'll be back!
Artifact is hands down my favorite store to support in Portland! Prices are always affordable and the amazing selection of merchandise is ever changing! Love, love, love!
I was visiting my friends in Portland, and had an afternoon to explore by myself. So glad I stopped by here. I picked up some jewelry and some other small little presents for my hosts and had a lovely conversation during checkout, she gave me hiking and restaurant suggestions. I love how the styles are eclectic and vintage but also mixed in with standard basic outfits, so it’s not too overwhelming. They also have a really good selection of home decor, furniture, shoes, belts etc. I’d visit this place once every few weeks if I lived in Portland and try my best to practice self control ;
Artifact is one of my favorite second hand stores in Portland. Sadly editing my 5 star review. I am a consignor with Artifact and a pair of pants that I was consigning went missing, most likely were stolen. I paid $125 for these when I bought them and because I chose to consign at Artifact, I am now out that money AND that item. It is in the contract that "things happen" and Artifact has no responsibility over an item that THEY lost. They are doing nothing to make the loss right. No store credit, no compensation whatsoever for their mismanaged item. I will never sell here again and I will make sure my friends know what happened as well.
I LOVE this place! The vibe is super hip and laidback without being pretentious or snooty. I want to LIVE in their dressing rooms someone really understands good lighting, angles and scale, and am super pleased to find plenty of cute options in larger sizes for us super curvy peeps. I always end up in conversation with other shoppers, passing back and forth clothes and shoes we think the others will look great in. It's such a great vibe- and my fave clothing store around.
A really cool thrift/vintage shop with excellent curation. The prices are very reasonable too! Definitely recommend if you're thrifting in Portland
the good: artifact has pretty consistently interesting things at pretty consistently decent prices. also, they're centrally located. some of the employees note SOME, keep reading for what i mean are absolutely lovely and happy to chat with you about vintage hunting in the city! the bad: in case you haven't heard, owners don't seem to be particularly supportive of their workers, particularly BIPOC employees; you can find more info @thriftworkersunited.pdx. i will also say that, as someone who frequented the store pre-strike, i've had very mixed experiences in the store — one time i went was lovely, another time i went the store was almost hostile in its unfriendliness, and i left almost immediately. also worth noting that i was dressed up on the former occasion and dressed down on the latter... it definitely felt like certain staffers cater to young white hipster girl types, and if you stray away from that aesthetic, you'll be treated accordingly. marking two stars so my experience doesn't get caught out by the 1-star filters, but basically... i don't shop here anymore. if you care about fair labor practices and owner accountability, i'd recommend that you don't either at least, not until owners have made significant changes. if you're looking for a similar shopping experience without crossing the picket line, i'd recommend buffalo or red light on hawthorne 10 min away or village merchants just down the street.
This place is awesome. Always affordable and packed with great finds. The staff is always on point and very friendly.
Absolutely love this store! They always have something I didn't know I needed. I also do trades here regularly for items I no longer want/need. Best vintage at best prices!
Love this gem of a store! The vibe is so fun and creative, with lots of unique pieces. I always find something to purchase every time I go in. It’s a fun and colorful shopping experience. They also give back to the community and support local artists and makers.
