This very special and unique company is so much more than a babysitting company! The creativity and talents incorporated into the nurture and care of my children have exceeded all expectations. Over the past several years, My two daughters ages 6 and 11, have not only been exceptionally cared for, but have been provided tutoring for math and reading comprehension, learned singing and dancing skills, and enjoyed arts and crafts. The babysitters have always been highly professional and enthusiastic. The owner, Shannon Darin, runs her business with the utmost dedication, professionalism and puts her heart and soul into every detail. Yes, I have witnessed this first hand! Even during the pandemic she transitioned her business into providing virtual babysitting classes which we also benefited from. Artist Babysitting is truly remarkable! We will continue to use their services for years to come!

What is more NYC than having your child cared for and creatively inspired by working actors, singers, dancers, musicians, visual artists, photographers….you name it. The sitters that the incredible Shannon, who heads up Artist Babysitting, keeps on staff are not only highly qualified in childcare and making sure your children are well cared for and safe but also are accomplished in their own highly competitive artistic careers. Given that Broadway and film and television and music jobs can have gaps between working…this allows NYC artists to give back to the community and to kids, in particular, while continuing to be able to live and thrive in the big apple. I can’t recommend Artist Babysitting more emphatically. I’d give them 10 stars if it were available. Try them and see for yourself. Amazing!!!!

I contacted Artist Babysitting about 3 weeks before my October 2021 wedding. I had decided last minute that I wanted an event sitter at the wedding because there were about 10 younger kiddos attending including my own 2 yr old and I thought it would be nice to have an extra set of eyes on the little ones and help keep them busy at the kids table. Shannon responded to my email within 24 hours and I had a phone call with Melinda by the end of the week! They placed me with 2 babysitters for our wedding and everything turned out amazing! The sitters Chloe and Micayla were so sweet, professional and fun! All the kids loved them and had no problems sitting down and coloring or playing games with them. So many of our wedding guests commented on how great it was having the girls there and having a kids table so their little ones could have fun too rather than sitting at a table with adults. I am so glad I contacted Artist Babysitting!

Having a child is a blessing and to trust your bundle of joy with a sitter is challenging. The question is always lingering, is this sitter right to be around your child. I am thankful to know that there’s Babysitting company that truly cares about children and who they hire to watch them. To each his own opinion/experience, but the previous harsh and negative review someone posted blows my mind! And it's compelled me to write this review, which I RARELY do! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ARTIST BABYSITTING!! Here's why I recommend them from BOTH client and artist side: As a former singer/actor, I know what kind of side jobs are out there. To have a company allow you to work a FLEXIBLE schedule I'd have crazy schedules, from working 6mo out of town to hitting day-to-day auditions with unknown callback schedule. A.B. goes TO the family's apartment and also interviews them so that the sitter is in a safe/good environment, too! Yes Richard, A.B. takes a fee, but why wouldn't they? And to not have to wait tables until 3a.m... enough said. As a parent and current client, I'm now in Finance and have used A.B. since my toddler was practically a newborn! I have HIGH standards for a person to watch my child. Of the artists A.B. has sent, they've exceeded expectations! Their sitters are experienced, knowledgeable, very hands-on, they give end-of-day reports, and really care! They've sent us such great people that the ONE time they sent us someone unlike the others, the woman was still above-par, just not at the level that the other sitters had been. I LOVE that a company allows parents like me to set up recurring sitter schedule OR last minute "I need someone in 2 hours!" to connect with artists/sitters who may not know if they're free tomorrow or may be between shows and want solid work for weeks/months. I had a pretty weird experience working for this agency back in 2014. I had one consistent family I loved sitting for, but I was sent on two other jobs where the owner gave me pretty bad feedback about my conduct with the families. One of them being that I got a complaint that I had let the kids "watch tv" the mother specifically asked me to let them so they didn't freak when she left, lol. Anyway, it's babysitting, it's not that serious, and I found it weird to get personal feedback that directly contradicted the wishes of the family. not to mention they had a ton of organizational dysfunction. Would recommend Broadway Babysitters for any sitter looking for work!

Shannon is the most compassionate and caring person I have ever known. She will go the extra mile to take care of anyone she comes across personally and professionally.

Avoid at all costs! They make you sign a contract that makes the liable for nothing and then send incompetent sitters. We had a nightmarish experience and the owners of the company could care less.
