I've been doubled billed multiple times and my doctor will consistently make me wait 45m+ for my scheduled appointment. Other than that, it's fine.
Doctors have been great. Lab techs had a very unhygienic area. Saw blood on ground and sharps container open. Very concerning. Hope I don't get sick
I gave my Lab prescription to the Lab receptionist, the prescription was registered in the system. After waiting one hour in the waiting room, the manager came out and told me that she will not allow her technician to take multiple tests. She told me to just leave, and gave me no options at all! Why did I have to wait whole hour to hear this? How difficult is it to fill 4 viles of blood? Patients don't come first at this hospital. I was shocked at the level of service which was offered to me.
I was told to bring my infant in to be seen and I was told to bring him to this one part and they sent me to the third floor peds , but apparently they couldn’t see him either and gave me some run around even though he was told to go there , absolutely a mess !
Consistently good care. Dr. Sinnopoli really cares about her patients. I have been sick since December 26th. I got a rapid antigen test on Dec. 28, which was negative. Then my daughter, also sick and staying with me, got a doctor-authorized COVID test, which was positive. I knew I should get tested but felt so ill I didn't want to drive cross-town again to be officially tested. Dr. S's medical assistant, Jeanine, listened closely to my concerns, answered my many questions about the COVID testing I had already received, and advised me to get the doctor-authorized testing since I had been sick for so long. I was pleasantly surprised to get a followup call from their office even before the testing results were in. They simply wanted to make sure I was getting the care I needed. I did test positive. I was very impressed with their concern for me, and the consistency of their care. Regarding the scheduling system, it can be frustrating, but considering they just had to switch over to a new software system I think they are doing pretty great. The scheduling staff is consistently level-headed and kind.
So in 2018 I saw them for my annual. Then I again made an appointment for my annual in 2019. Like I was finally trying to get on track and be responsible about my health, you know? They canceled on me. I rescheduled a couple more times but each rescheduled one was canceled. Then Covid happened so I stopped because I know they were overwhelmed. Finally last year when things started opening back up again, I tried to make another appointment. This time they said that because I hadn’t seen my doctor within the year, I’d be considered a new patient and they aren’t accepting new patients.
I've always had great care when I was there. Best part about this place is that it's an easy bus ride and/or easy parking park in the structure near the floor of your doctors office. They were pretty good with screenings during the pandemic and extra cleanings in the waiting area. I think the best part about this location is that u can go grocery shopping at Whole Foods afterwards! Just make sure to check if your insurance offers free labs at one of their associated lab locations, take that over the lab in this building to save on costs. Staff and lab techs have always been good about taking my blood and other stuff. FYI if you're having trouble reaching your doctor on the phone, there is an extension number to the doctor office portion that you can get by asking the medical assistant or nurse. Not sure if they'll give it to you, but that's how it worked for me.
I’ve been asked to be understanding because they are switching systems but when your front office phone isn’t even accepting calls and there is no way to contact my provider, not even though their CMS, that’s just unprofessional and shows the true colors. Large scale lack of management and leadership. I’m looking for a new location because I just can’t get connected and have been waiting for a month now for a call back. It’s at a new low, waiting for my appointment I’m hearing the receptionist talk about having difficulties filling her position, I have to paraphrase her “it’s like no one wants to work here anymore,” “there are lots of offers but no one stays in the position.” High turn over is a sign of a poor business model in my experience.
Very much a mixed bag. Clear that the workers are dealing with, at best, an inept upper management. Their patient portal system is a bad joke. Currently, you can't submit a prescription refill through the portal because it it's blocked by a demand to fill out a required field that doesn't actually appear on the web form. The workers I've dealt with are good to excellent, but I detect an undercurrent of 'upselling' procedures and medications. This is, unfortunately, a systemic problem that can only be corrected by the United States adopting a civilized first world health care system. But the flaws of that system are particularly flagrant here.
Prospect Commons has really lost my interest in receiving care. Receptionist slow and rude. Their policy changed from 15 min if arriving after appt. When did they change policy without notifying their patients. More for profit and less care for patients. I've brought all my children and grandchildren here. Very upset with customer service. Customer service skills would be recommended for 2nd floor reception.
